One of our local players, Bobby H who is known for his ability to play a safety in 9 ball by barely touch the object ball and then having the cue ball travel a lengthy distance away from the object ball for a good safety.

Bobby and I invented this game and have had a ball at playing it. It is difficult and it will make you a better safety player, I guarantee. :D

If you have any questions, please let me know. I used CUETABLE to demonstrate the game, which is relatively simple. It is a quick game which requires uncanny precision. Try it and let me know how you like it. It must be played with another individual because it is a lot of fun with another similarly competitive person.

Is it a foul if the three goes out of the box?
Do you have to play it as it lies, where the cue ball ends up?

I like it. Thanks. By the way, to get rid of a ball like your cueball "A" after drawing a line, you just hold down the "ctrl" key (in Windows) and click on that ball.

Yes, it is a foul if the object ball goes out of the box.

Yes, you have to play the object ball where it lies inside the box. If it goes outside the box, the fouling player is assigned one foul loss and the object ball is then spotted one ball off of the rail in the beginning position. The incoming shooter has cue ball in hand behind the headstring.

Yes, you shoot the cue ball from wherever it lies, unless it does not pass the side pocket, which is of course a foul.

In honor of the Filipino players who have coined the term "MONEY KING", we have coined the term "SKINNING KING" for the dominant player in this game. (My friend, Bobby H is Filipino) :)

Thanks,

Thanks Jeff. Let's see if I got it right. :)

Interesting and useful game Joey. Re: the CB staying in the box, if any part of the ball is IN then it's OK..i.e. if the center of the ball is outside so that the CB contact point with the cloth is outside that is NOT a foul?

THANKS!

interesting game JoeyA, thanks!

David,
This game will determine just how precisely you can hit the cue ball.

It is not for the faint of heart but if you stay with it, you will improve the straightness of your stroke, the precision of your hit on the cue ball and the accuracy of your aim.

FTR, I will play any AZer this game for the "SKINNING KING" crown. :D

The game of 3 fouls, (OUT) is completed in a relatively short period of time even if you are a straight shooter. :o

We play the base of the ball or the center of the object ball must be inside of the rectangle, similar to the way most people refer to the cue ball on the headstring and breaking for most games.

So if the center of the object ball is outside of the rectangle it is a foul.

It is a fun game, when played with a similarly skilled opponent and will test your nerves. The game is of relatively short duration as even the most skilled will sometimes miss the object ball entirely, committing a foul.

Seriously, good game, lots of intensity with productivity!

Joe, you got action. You just have to shoot shot #2 every time. ;)

J/k. But I'm not kidding when I say that you have to get rid of that bridge device. That's just plain cheating. LOL Do you have a laser on it as well?

See you one day for the SKINNING KING crown, I'm sure. :)

I think the SKINNING KING crown could only be transferred if the owner of the crown loses 3 sets in a row of OUT. The game of OUT goes quick. JoeyA

Cool practice game...I use a "skimming" (as I call it) safety if I want to just nudge the OB behind another OB and move the CB down to the other end of the table.

2 Lasers, 2 1/4 inches apart;)

BTW, I like the name of the game too. If you're into the macabre, you could have a special cueball and object ball set made. OB-bloody cat. CB-razorblades. And of course red cloth.

Not bad thoughts. :p

I would choose the red color that comes from a lung shot rather than that which comes from a muscle shot. (Only because it would be a contrasting red color against either green or blue cloth). The brighter and more contrasting the object ball, the easier it is to see the edge of it.

No red cloth for me. (Too little demand for red cloth and I would think the cost is up there pretty good).

I would love to license the design and making of the "SKINNING KING" object ball and cue ball. The only problem is it wouldn't appeal to the masses as IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT game to excel at. I would love for the masses to prove me wrong. :D I think only players that make safety play an important part of their game will be able to see the value in practicing the game. Besides, you can use practically any set of balls to play the game.
