New shaft

Hello to the cuemakers that may respond to this.

I am in need of a new shaft for my cue. I perfer a custom shaft. Im sure the production ones are fine i just prefer a custom. Reason for needing a new shaft is that i had a disagreement with my current shaft and it decided that it no longer wanted to be one piece. The way it happend was accidental and ive never seen one split like this one. With a little scotch tape ive been limping thru the week.

So with all that said Im asking how much for a shaft. Im really not in the postion to spend $300 for a shaft. there might also be room for a refinish as well.

about the shaft. Its a 3/8x10 flat faced joint. A thin ring of ebony and a thicker band of purple heart. It currently has a custom hand sanded taper because it came from a house cue. tip i would perfer a ultra skin layered med. and a 3/4 stag ferrule. Sugar marks dont bother me. I can send photos via emal later on tonight. Im not in a complete rush, but i would like to know what im dealing with. Please pm me with your suggestions. thanks

The rules of this forum specify that no pricing can be posted, but you should get some PM's (I sent you one).

You would be best to send the shaft to the CM so he can match the ringwork or re-use the original. Also, if you don't want to send the shaft, you will need to measure the joint size, preferably with a digital caliper, specify the tip size and give an indication of what kind of taper you like.

I road down to ultimate the other day tom in hopes of catching paul there. But it would seem that I had just missed him. I had also hope to run into you as well, just to chat. Im only 45 mins away from that room and I really dont mind that drive, well maybe the part by the dump......
