At least the first two things you mention (more draw and more spin) could be explained by the smaller diameter -- you may be hitting lower or further off-centre than you expect. Did you ever try something like a Predator Z shaft? If so, were the results different?

I have Z2 shaft and WX900. While I didnt like Z2 because of the lack of feedback I played with WX900 for about 4 years (since its inception to the market, I was one of the very first european players to have it). My WX900 is turned down to about 11.6mm so I am quite used to slim shafts I guess. And while my WX900 is really LD (even lower than Z2 in my opinion) my new solid ash shaft is very close to it in this department. And yes, you are probably right that i can hit the cueball lower but there are shots where i hit the center of the cueball (5-10degree stunshots) and the cueball goes much longer distance than with WX900. Go figure..

Thank you for posting this! I'm a huge fan of playing Pool with small tip sizes and I find it compelling for the same reasons as you do (right now I'm playing cheap 9mm Cuetec Fusion). I also find ash to have a nicer hit overall.

Finally, actually seeing the CB better is a huge advantage.
I had almost no problems with my stroke - the canonical taper helped with a smooth movement and I was always a very mindful aimer (I take my time) :smile: But I can see that careless banging balls would lead to a lot of problems - the shaft does what you tell it to.

As I know, the little smaller tip diameter could give you accurate point on cue ball, so you could play follow and draw back easier. There are a lot player from EU who played snooker too. So they could use it soon.

Yeah, I see it like this - ultra LD shafts like Z or WX900 are like Volvo S80, easy driving through the corners with all the electronic guardians leading your way...you will get to your destination safely even if your driving skills are not that good...while solid wood shafts are like dodge viper - in the hands of skillful rider this car will drift through the corners and get to the finish line first while a beginner will crash immediately if he tries to use its abilities to the fullest..

I have always mixed playing pool and snooker so I guess you are onto something here, maybe that is why I like slim shafts after all:thumbup:
