This has been around for a few years, but has just recently been applied to billiards. I have been using it for about a month for other things, so can't comment yet on its efficacy vis-a-vis pool playing. The basic premise is that this technology can directly communicate with your sub-conscious mind in a way that only your sub-conscious mind can understand. You can read all about it on the web site. Here's the link: PATHS
If you are interested, check out the specials for May. I am in no way affiliated beyond being a customer.

Placebo is a powerful thing. I wouldn't pay $199 for it though. Call me ignorant but I'm going to stick with practice and hard work.

Yes I have a MUCH better idea care to pay $1999.00 for it? Just paypal me.

Is there anything else? Doesn't any learning and/or doing require mind activity? Where does most of our mind power lie? How can we access it? Do you have a better idea?

Mind Energetics? It's just a bunch of crap. It falls under the catagory of Self Help And Motivation (ie SHAM).

If you want to develop a better stroke you should google search PORN.

This sounds a lot like the i-Doser program. I-Doser uses binaural beats (playing different frequencies in each ear) to influence a person's brainwave patterns. I've been experimenting with this program as much as I can and as controlled as I can (not being skeptical, being open to the possibility that it works).

Thankfully, I haven't had to pay for the doses I'm trying ;)

I'd have a very very hard time dumping money like that into something I have never seen or heard of.

Then again I was quite skeptical of hypnosis and it seems to have a small positive effect on my game.

I believe that two things will increase your game in a positive way more than anything. Those two things are practicing and having a very positive outlook on your game.

When I say practice...I mean practice with a purpose. Don't just knock balls around. Make every moment of practice a challenge to beat or meet your expectations. I feel that if you aren't practicing with purpose then you are just wasting time.

Having a positive outlook will also effect your game in possibly a more positive way than practicing. Confidence breeds success.

Case in point on being positive. A coupla weeks ago I played a match where I was so nervous I played horribly. Afterwards I decided to practice and continued to play terrible. I played the next day to make up for it and played even worse. I was so down on my game I played progressively worse week after week for 3 weeks.

Finally I decided I was going to try to calm myself down by sleeping while listening to a hypnosis tape. The next day I played a match where I didn't play good, but not horrible either and ended up winning the match. Right after that I decided to practice where I broke and ran 4/10 of 9ball and then played two racks of 14.1 where I ran both racks before having to run out for an emergency. I was on cloud 9 considering I could barely muster a four ball run before then.

What happened to the time when people had job, families, and bills to pay and didn't have time for crap like this. The people buying this junk are probably the same people driving around in caddies with 22's and 5 tv screens that live in a 2 room shack that all the rest of us pay for through taxes. Rant over!

If Kevin Trudeau isn't selling it then it's not valid. His version would be called "Mind Games They Don't Want You to Know About." and it would be a $99 a month uncancellable subscription.

.....

I tried there sample color thing and i gave it a fair shake, but that's 3 min of my life i will never get back. I am not into any of these types of things they are all useless. There is no free lunch. If it sounds stupid and costs 200$ then its stupid...

total rip-off, waste of money, none of these things are legit IMO

I won't say the mental stuff isn't important to pool, but I don't need books, tapes, drugs or hypnosis to get the right mental attitude for pool. You just need to love the game and have a little self-discipline.

This stuff does feel very shammy to me. I'd expect to see it advertised in late-night infomercials, the kind of stuff that'd make a scientologist blush.

I'd save the money and take a couple of hours of lessons with a pro or semipro.
