Mars Calahan is a genuis!! I had this exact idea, probably every pool player has. Give 4 guys $5000 each, not allowed to leave the room until 1 player has $20,000. Gamble, hustle, whatever. Pool matches is what I'm after, but it would be pretty sweet if you started seeing some proposition shots, or proposition bets. IE: 'I bet i can make 10 1 handed wing shots in a row.'

This show could be really successful if they get the right players. Everyone RIGHT NOW start emailing the website, Requesting Keith McCready, and Rodney Morris!! Just for the first week. There is a 100 people i would like to see on this show. Hopefully they don't have more than 2 'Known' players in the same show. Lets poll it. We all decide 2 players together, then we all email them telling them what 2 players we want. You guys know my Vote.

The other thing that they gotta do to be successfull is make sure all 4 personalities are different. The Earthquake would be awesome, but i don't wanna see 3 other guys the same. Give us Keith, some preppy harvard hot shot, rodney morris, and uhhhhhh some old timer like OHB. Anyone else think this show can be made successful?

I think they only want amatures. They producer (I think) posted over at the CCB (here is the link to the post). I'm not 100% sure though because the guy can not answer a simple question...but it was either something I read in his post, his web site, or the application that lead me to believe it is for amatures. It is a shame he can not answer a question. (Can you tell I'm upset by him not answering my question??? LMAO!)

Eydie,

Do you know why they changed the audition in Chicago? It was supposed to be today. I wonder if they changed any other dates.

I am confussed  (but, it dosen't take much to do that with me anymore, lol) I was not aware of another date beside the one that I posted on this thread. Where did you get that info?

When they producer posted on the CCB he gave a heads up to a Cali casting (say that 5 times fast, LOL), then he provided a link to the same page which you provided, however, the NY casting date was this past Friday and the Chicago date was for yesterday...guess there was a scheduling conflict or something...good thing I didn't go to NY, LMAO!

its all on the website now, they changed it last week or so.........no pros.....only amatuers.........there is an audition on the 4th of february at amsterdam billiards from 11-3 (shitty times) and one in chicago on the 6th of february. if you can't make the audition, download the application and send it in with your photo.

my prediction: this is going to turn out like total shit..........they aren't advertising very well.........the audition time this friday is terrible, and the format is terrible.......

you make a bet, then play ONE game for it. it may appeal to the non-pool playing public i guess............but i dont remember seeing to many people play ONE game for all the cash.......i can see it now, they get down to the last two for the last of the cash, one game for 20,000 and the idiot shits in the 9 ball when he misses the object ball by a mile............lol

i really hope this show works, it sounds like it has potential, but imo it is shaping up to be a HUGE FLOP.

thanks

It sounds like they are more interested in the smack talk than in the game itself...but for sure 1 game of nine ball is a bad idea...but I guess they are looking at time restrictions too. It has great potential to get non-pool players interested in pool. However, I don't think the show will last that long...it will be a 15 minutes of fame type thing, IMHO.

i just hope it does more good for pool than bad........too much emphasis on smack talk and not enough on pool may not be the best way to promote the sport.....

again i hope it works out and wish them the best of luck.......

Bob and I are going to go. I will keep you all posted on what happens and how it is arranged.

If anyone has any questions they want me to ask the producers/casting please post them and I will get answers.

Does any body know more information like what channel it is slated to be on, or the season it will be on?

Why Not?

What the hell man, it's something. Sorry your names not on it and you ain't cashing in Grady, but it is for amatures. Why bash it? Try thinking about something else besides your nut. LOL, think about my nut.
Purdman

Hey, Don, this TV show sounds like something you should consider (IMO). You should make that trek to NYC for the auditions. I think it's tailor made for players just like you. You've definitely got the right personality, and there's no question that the Purdman's got game! :)

And if you win, JAM wants a little bone for the referral! (Just kidding) ;)

Hey, I just printed off my entry form. I am gonna go give it a try JAM. I am off Friday anyway. Grab ol' Miss P. and have a nice weekend in NY. If I won, we got a dinner date. That would be the four of us!!! LOL. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

It is gonna be on GSN (Game Show Network); you know, the station that plays the re-runs of Family Feud from the 70's? :D
