new video from Derby

It seems like it was just a few years ago, all of us straight pool nuts were scrounging around looking for some kind of straight pool run on video, the bigger the better. Now, we have an embarrassment of riches.

J.R. Calvert has just released some of the Derby attempts that were done in his room. Some with commentary. Have not had a chance to look at them yet. The John Schmidt one was not one of his good ones. He left our room and went over to the other room later that night and ran a 146. But the Mika Immonen one probably has the 156 and may also have the other 100 plus attempt.

the Mika one is great to watch. it does not include the 156, which was prior to the play shown, but it is interesting nonetheless. although a bit alarming to watch Mika's patterns or lack thereof. he's the best 9-ball/14.1 move-the-cue-allover fornoreason exceptbecauseican so nyahnyah player.
