New "Wanted/For Sale" policy

I would like to propose a new policy for the Wanted/For Sale section:

Don't post: "That price is ridiculous"
Don't post: "I have the exact same item for $X.XX less"
Don't post: "That cue is a piece of crap because XXXX"

I'm sick of people's threads being ruined by users who have no intention of buying anything. If a guy is asking $5,000 for a Meucci, so be it. Let him be and don't disturb his auction. It won't get sold and the thread will die on its own. If you have the same item for less money, start your OWN "For Sale" thread. Don't hijack the original poster's.

Do post: "Please post more pictures showing detail X"
Do post: "What is the specification of XX and XXX"
Do post: "Where are you located"

This policy would limit posts to direct questions about the product being offered. Posts inquiring about more details of the product for sale should be encouraged. But posts that just detract from the item or offer competition inside the same thread must not be allowed.

I know my tone is negative, but I've seen this type of "thread hijacking" for over a year now on this site. Hopefully people will read this and it can become a policy. Perhaps a more positive tone of this post can become a "Sticky" in the "Wanted/For Sale" section.

Thank you.

I'd agree for obnoxious negative posts, but something like, "Muellers sells these new for half that price," is useful to the reader, and this site is a service to the readers, not to the sellers, to my way of thinking. I think in general for the obnoxious posts, most readers will recognize the source for what it's worth.

Are there particular members who regularly post such obnoxious messages?

Tappity tap tap. I think this forum can potentially breed a false sense of trust when it comes to selling, especially if the seller is a recognised poster.

I participated in one "that is obviously priced too high" threads and it turned out that the seller was ripped off himself, and believed his cue to be worth a lot more than its real market value.

Keep this site as an informative, helpful site, for those who enjoy pool. Don't give people the idea that this site is like ebay; where most are not trusted and everybody is a crook.
People shoukld be able to voice their opinion.. and feel pefectly good about what they say .
