New website

Our new website for our room is currently up and running. If ya all get a chance to take a look and give any input or suggestions.

Thanks

Just a quick graphical suggestion - The main toolbar would look much neater if all the buttons were on one row.

Oh, and the photo on the "Lessons" page seems to be missing.

Good luck with your room, looks great!

Although there are some pix that won't come up, I really like that green splash pix. I also like your rates -- $3/hour during the day, damn!! But why close so early..?

Thanks for the comments guys. We are redoing some of the pictures, and Dan I will see if we can correct those buttons.

As far as the closing time, the town we are in rolls up the sidewalks at about 8pm and we have yet to see any business later than 12, if that changes trust me we will stay open.

Love the home page, great splash! Might want to adjust the menu bar size, forum is spilled over on a new row when i view it, maybe resize the buttons, or delete one to make room for the forum button. Other than that great professional job, looks better than any pool room ive been to!

Very nice looking room, and a great site. I'm sure your local population loves having a fine billiard room in your area. I'll be stopping there anytime I come through your area! Congratulations, and good luck in the future!

Images running onto next line

You currently have borders on the pictures which are there by default (if you dont specify them to be hidden), however you can just take 15 or so seconds to correct it in your code.

Current:
<a href="/" title="Home"><img src="/imgs/menu/menu_01.jpg" width="64" height="35" alt="Home" id="1"></a>

Changed:
<a href="/" title="Home"><img border="0" src="/imgs/menu/menu_01.jpg" width="64" height="35" alt="Home" id="1"></a>

Do that for all of your linked pictures and it will correct the problem

Rate correction

Currently:
Rates
Private instruction is $30 per hour, or four lessons for $100. Group instruction is four sessions over a one month period, and is $60 total.

Suggestion:
Rates
Private instruction is $30 per hour, or four lessons for $100. Group instruction is four sessions over a one month period, and is $60 total per individual.

Math isn't my strong suit, however I believe there was a small error in the wording on your group rate.

Last thing....I promise

Also you may want to remove the simulated latin from the template you used on the "Pro Shop" page...

Something Else
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. In at purus. Mauris posuere. Proin nunc. Pellentesque accumsan lacinia nisi. Donec nisi. Proin id turpis vitae. $1,000,000

Thanks Mike the latin doesn't even show on mine upload??? I have pasted this thread with your other ideas to the webmaster and will work on the syntax. Thanks for the help.

BTW I will still take the million....LOL

Actually, I'm avoiding the older HTML specs, and "border=" isn't part of the spec the site uses (http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd). I'm using CSS to do layout.

The site may not comply (then again, it may, but I doubt it) with standards right now, but that's an eventual goal of mine. (Actually, in doing a quick check, it gets pretty close except for the Google Maps stuff).

And the site looked ok in my browser (Safari), so I wasn't aware of the "buttons spilling over" thing until just now. It's since been corrected. One line in the CSS file did it just fine... border: 0. I forget sometimes that Safari doesn't, by default, put borders around <a><img>.

Pictures and some more page text are coming... soon as Dan/Chris can write it up.

Latin ("lorem ipsum..." see http://lipsum.com/) is a commonly used placeholder text. See also http://www.saila.com/usage/lorem/ (etc.).

In other words, it's there as a placeholder so the design can be finalized or whatever while the designer waits on the actual copy (the text) for the page or site.

Very nice site. I joined the forums on the site last night... a little lonely over there right now, but I'm sure there will be many join before long.

Later,
Bob

Hey Chris, I see you don't have your weekly tournaments listed.
Are you still running them on Sunday & Wednesday?

They are still running. I'm waiting for the text (copy) on them.
