When I sent my cue off to repair the finish I didn't rember just how sweet it is!
The fourth shaft has a conical tapper. It straightens out the cue balls path when I hit it with my crooked stroke! :grin-square:
I like it more every day!
Here it is on the floor I just put under my table. Tricky stuff!.

Man I really missed my cue while it was away.

hey

Nick..that Mike Cochran is absolutely incredible.....(wish it was mine) sorry didnt mean to say that out loud....LOL.....Steve

Hard to believe

As much as I was used to the origional 12.85 mm and 13.25 mm shafts, the new conical tappered shaft is better. What size it is I am not sure. The shaft is super forgiving. Especially on long draw and long low follow kill and spin shots.
This cue plays so well I take for granted what everyone else doesn't. It's classic beauty. Changing the wrap to green gave the cue a classic old time look. I had hoped it might. But Mr. Mike had the final say and he chose well.
Thanks for looking all,

Nick :)

Nick,

If the fourth shaft is the one on the bottom in your pics, it appears to be made of older shaft wood as the color is darker than the others. That may have more to do with how well it plays. Do the original shafts have more of a pro taper than a conical taper?

Regards,

Randy

The shafts

The 12.85 shaft is the dirty shaft. It is more like a piece of glass than wood. The 13.25 shaft is what I was playing with. I had it made not to long ago.
Mike had asked why I liked the 13.25 so much and I said tip position and big hands. It just pushed the ball nice.
The new conicalled tappeered shaft is like the 13.25 shaft in feel and contact. Control is amazing same as the regular shafts. The new tapper spins the ball way more. With less effort. Barely moving off center almost gives maximum spin. But you could almost say the same thing about the other shafts. It is the best of both worlds. Great action and control.
Love it.
Thanks for asking,
Nick :)

Is that a tongue and groove floating floor? I've put a few in myself and I'm no floor installer myself, but both places I helped at looked awesome.

Yup

Bamboo. Going green like my cue!
The floor is very pretty. We are very happy with it.
