Mason....I just got my cue from Paul on Wednesday night. I could not be happier with the performance of your ferrule material!! I had one of golfparents 'Melk Dud' tips added to it...and yowza!!

Your ferrule material looks very similar in color to the old Cerosite ferrule on my Helmstetter...so the transition was very easy. Definitely lighter in color than Murray's ferrule material...but the performance is still there!!

Count me one very delighted customer!!!

Micarta

I will take a 3' piece. Pls let me know your PayPal e-mail number. Thanks

those specs are ID and OD,this material is tube, but it is exactly the same as the rod i get/you just can't do caps.this material is stronger than LBM and caps are not needed for strength, but i realize many poeple just like doing capped ferrules.

pricing is : $100 per 3 foot rod all prices include shipping

all the new yellow micarta is gone.wow,40 feet in a week.i am placing another order Monday and i get it pretty quick now.i should have more in a few weeks tops and i will make another thread.

all who have paid will receive their order, but i can't take any new orders right now.thanks.

I'll take 4 ferrules. pm sent... :grin-square:

Rec'd yesterday.

Thank you, Mason. Timely shipping and safe packaging. These are definitely 'micarta ferrules' and the hit is unbelievable.

When the time comes, I will be ordering more if you got em.

i ordered more tuesday,in rod and tube.theu tube will be in 2-3 weeks and the rod will be 8-10 weeks.thanks guys.

wiki page on micarta:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micarta

looks like there's a variety of materials that falls under the label "micarta" and some of it is phenolic-based.

Whatever it's made out of, my cues all have Mason's yellow micarta ferrules on them. The hit is sublime, and it avoids chalk staining and scratches much, much better than any LBM ferrule I've ever had, although not quite as nicely as ivory. Of course, the micarta is a fraction of the cost of ivory, and probably more durable, so I'm plenty content.

i assure everyone here at AZ and anyone else in the world that this material is 100% micarta.

thanks for the pics Kenny.

From the pics it looks to have a weave in it, is that correct? The old stuff used by South West was a paper base and stripped. That was one thing that was cool about it. Because it was stripped and not rolled it took on a look of ivory when it was turned.

this micarta is cloth not paper and rolled and molded.it is lighter in weight and stronger than the old paper base material.the hit is similar but the deflection is lower and it seems to generate more spin.i know some will say that more spin is impossible out of a ferrule but trust me it does.
