In a few months i am sending a very talented young gilrl to New York to try and qualifie for some WPBA Tournaments.

She wants to play on February 28 & 29 in a Poolroom called Slate and she stay's all week for the next weekend March 6 & 7 because there is another Qualifier in Prime Time Billiards in Sayreville New York.

Az Billiards Readers, could you help me with some of my questions?

Are those two Poolrooms close together?
Do you know of a nice and not to expensive Hotel that is located close to one of these Poolrooms or both?
Does anyone knows about some mid weekly Tournaments that she can play in?
What is the best travelway ones she landed in New York, Rent a car, bus, train??

It also would be nice if you have some other information that can make her trip a lot more comfortable.

Thanks

Hi Maurice,

I am one of the organizers of the Chesapeake Area Tour (CAT) another WPBA qualifing tour in the Washington DC mid-Atlantic region, although I personally now live in New York City. I would be glad to assist you with the logistical information you need. Here is my email please contact me and I will send you some links that may help you and your player when she arrives. Additionally, I will send you the link to the CAT site. We will have all our 2004 Qualifier dates published by December 31. We are in the final contract stages and I make a policy of not releasing the dates publically until we have all the signed contracts back. However we have 8 events planned for 2004 including 3 US Open Qualifiers. Thanks.

Best Regards,

i don't think you'll have a problem finding an inexpensive hotel. you just have to search. there are plenty of boutique hotels all over manhattan. since you have the time, narrow your choices and post the hotels. there are enough nyc'ers around here to tell you good or bad.

Hello Maurice,

Here is some information which may be helpful to you.

Prime Time Billiards: 732-721-6555
960 Et 9 south, South Amboy 08879 (it actually borders Sayreville)

Hotel link for South Amboy, NJ

Slate Billiards: (Chelsea Section of Manhatttan)
54 W. 21 St. NY, NY

Great inexpensive hotel in Manhattan which is centrally located, close to subway transportation and walking distance (about 15 minutes) to Slates.

My office is in Chelsea and very close to Slates. Being this is her first trip to NYC and the area, I would be happy to meet her when she arrives and be a tour guide to make the trip a little less stressful.

I am sure you will have more questions over the next few months and feel free to contact me any time and I will try to help as best as I can. I would also like to add you and your friends email addresses to the CAT players contact list and we will send you our 2004 schedule when we publish it in the next few weeks.

Regards,
Holly Ryan

Maurice, I forgot to mention I was in Holland last April. I was in Amsterdam visiting artist Andre Lassen and loved it. Hope sometime I have the opportunity to spend more time and see more of the entire country. Take care.

First to Holly,

Thanks very much for all the help already and maybe in the future.
We will make sure to contact you ones she arrives in the USA.
Did you recieved my e-mail yesterday?
If not let me know and i send you antoher one.
By the way my adress is: info@hobweert.nl

To Gremlin ( Harry ),

We still are not sure on wich tour or tours she wants to play on.
We have to sort out a very tight schedule for her, because it will going to cost some dollars with the flights and all.....
We are still in consultation with her sponsors.
It would help us and her allot if we had some help to find out the best tours were she can play on.
To give her the best chance to qualfie for the WPBA pro-status.

Also, of course it would be very nice if you could send me some foto's for the fan's back at home.
And it would even be nicer if we could get her interview on AZ Billiards, good promotion for her sponsors and maybe sponsors still to come.

She is not only a very good player, she is very pretty as well!!

Thanks for now everyone.

Maurice

Maurice,

I did see your email and responded last night, including answers to those other questions you had forwarded to me. Did you recieve my email?

Holly

Maurice,

I checked and sent it to your correct address. Who knows so...I resent it this evening.

let me know if you get it and take care,
Holly

Hi Maurice,

I double checked the address. I don't know why we're having a problem. I will send a private message to you through AZBiliards instead and see if that works for us. Very odd, as I didn't get a bounce back message that the email could not be delivered. If you have an alternate email try to send that to me and we can try that also.
