Carl, "CKChamp" on AZB ?, and part owner of Amsterdam Billiards in New York, came to Fort Collins to play in the APA US Amateur National qualifier. He won one of 4 spots for the men to go to Tampa for the APA US Amateur National Championship. Congratulations and good luck to Carl. It was really nice meeting him.
He ate really well at Match Up's, Mike was the perfect host.
Also our own Samm Diep won the women's event, which only had one winner. Samm saved her best play for the finals winning 9-3 or 4. Her 1st 4 games were flawless jumping out to a 4-0 lead!
It is always great to see Samm and of course, I also wish her well at the nationals. I over heard the 2nd place finisher say to Samm, who was a friend: "win the dang thing already so the rest of us have a chance to qualify"
. I think this was Samm's 4th time and I think the rest of the women are sick of it 
. Way to go Samm!
By the way, I have never seen an APA event like this and I must say it was run very well and went smoothly.
