Next Cue Recommendations

One question I have is that it says on the packaging that the weight is adjustable. I am happy with the weight the way it is, but I don't really understand how the weight could be adjustable.

The butt section unscrews to give you access to Cutec's weight system. Weight can be added or removed with a long hex (i think it's hex) driver, as well as moved forward or backward to fine tune the balance point to your liking.

I've played with many of the R-360 Cuetecs, having recommended them for years, and indeed with the specific model Shane uses. They all play just about identically in that whole R-360 series -- which is to say: absolutely terrific. I also like all their wrap and wrapless options in that series. Very powerful, yet sensitive cues (if I may use those essentially hard to define terms). You'll know it when you feel them.

The reviews on Amazon are very much on-target, and I share the view expressed therein by the guy who called them "sleepers." Extreme bang for the buck -- always have been IMO.

How similar is the hit of this cue to the Cuetec one piece house cues? I have hit the one piece house cues and they are pretty good.

Darn it! The cue got shipped needing a signature and I wasn't home today to sign for it. Now I have to go to the high school game tonight so I wont be able to pick it up until tomorrow. I called the post office and told them I would come and pick it up in the morning.

Oh well, as soon as I get home from the office today I have to head to the game. And as soon as I get home from the game tonight it will be late and time to hit the hay. So at least I have something to look forward to on my birthday tomorrow!

So far my initial impression of this Predator Roadline LE-4 cue is a positive one. I've played for about an hour and I cant really tell any difference as a result of the 314(2) LD shaft. The phenolic insert for the pin makes the joint more solid and it seems to stay tight.

So far, so good. Nice birthday present for today. Now if the snow will just stay away later tonight and tomorrow that would be good too. And if my aunt that just suffered a stroke improves to the point where she can come home next week, that would also be good. And if this bottom partial that I am now wearing starts to feel more comfortable that would also be good too.

OCD,

For under $500, I hear Cuetec is da bomb. Honest. Just ask Travis Trotter. He beats his Dad all the time with a Cuetec...

I am retiring from federal service on March 31st this year. I am pondering buying myself a new cue to play with since i'll have more time to play/practice after I retire.

Currently I have, or have had in the past, the following cues:
Chad Carter Custom
Nova Custom
Schon
Jacoby
Cuetec
Joss
Lucasi
Meucci
Schmelke
Pechauer
Madison Bob
Scorpion
314 Predator Shaft for the Lucasi

Anyway, since I am soon to be a pensioner and since I just had new cloth put on my Gold Crown IV and since I just bought a Dachshund puppy, I am sort of on a budget here. Would like to keep this to under $500. So, can anyone make any recommendation here as to what would be a good next cue purchase? Some of the brands I am considering are:

Falcon
OB
McDermott
Mezz
Custom Cue by xxxxx

Thoughts? And yes, I realize I might be limiting my options with the $500 or so limit.

Well, my recommendation is to sell all of the cues you have collected because they really aren't collectables, they are just a bunch of cues.

Take proceeds from that and add $500 and buy a nice used custom for $1K or so.

I have seen it in cues, guns, coins, you name it, folks have a bunch of stuff that is not going to appreciate and they would be better off have 1 or 2 nicer examples.

JMO,

Ken
