Been turning dowels from 1 1/8 by 30.5" pieces .
I mill the ends off to get 30" after they are turned round.
Lots of dust and chips.
These is the usual stuff turned from my new lot.
Off-white and heavier than the usual stuff out there .
Not gonna sell some for now as I pay that price years later when I replenish my stock.
The way shaft woods are going now, who knows how much they would be 4 or 5 years from now?
Heck, the Canadian supplier ( biggest one out there ) has raised their prices and doubled their shipping charge.
And their lumber appear to be getting younger.
Really happy with this lot . Lots of jewels .
Will get plenty of forearm and handle cores too from pieces that just have too much sugar . Or just too ugly.
