Nice Conversion

I don't know about the term featured. I would say listed. He is listed in the book as Joseph Custom Cues. He makes only full spliced cues. Those listed on Ebay are converted Titlelist. Appears to be a reasonable price.

I emailed him about his cues and he repeated the names of several dealers on this board, Sean, Mike, Joe S.. Said he works on many players cues. Yet none of the dealers has chimed in that they know anything about him or his cues? Hmmmmmmm...

i dont recall seing any cue makers at valley forge with the name joseph cues.. unless he had them in somebody elses booth...

I did a quick search on here and found this in a thread when someone was asking about titlist conversions and who made them.

Quote by titlistsucker:

"Q : Who are the good cuemakers that still make titlists?
Many cuemakers still make a good titlist. Sherm is a great guy and will treat u fine! i've Titlists from Mottey/Jim White, Scruggs, Schick, Jensen, Corsair, Palmer, Gina, TAD, Schrager, Buss, tascarella.. And i sent 2 ebonies to Skip and Tibbits to make conversions..
Tim Scruggs has stopped making titlists. and Richard Black wont make u one either. i know Joseph Fullsplice has a couple of titlists ready for order... just for ur info.. "

up and coming cuemaker

His name is Joe Franke. Does repair work for a lot of NY area pool and billiard professionals. He makes a great hitting cue. Only a couple in circulation around the NY city area. His attention to detail is unparalleled.
You would be making a good investment and the cue hits great. All cues are playtested by Joe ( decent player ) before they leave the shop. If he doesn't like the hit, it doesn't go out. Hope this will clear the air.

WHO RUBBED MY GENIE BOTTLE??

i see i am been summoned here by jeff kekeke... yeah i did have a couple of emails with him. That was way b4 the VF and he did told me he be bringing a couple of titlist along that he finished.. he still have a couple in his shop. From the emails n pics i can see he knows what he is doing..and he has ready made titlist (exstock).. i also have 1-2 AZers which i cant recall tell me he does some nifty work.

i was thinkin of going VF but got vetoed due to poor health...probably what he meant in the ebay ad was, he attended the VF as a visitor, and brought some cues along, and he was hangin by the lobby..i guess..

For the record (I think we're talking about the same guy): his name is actually Joe Banks and he's not on long island, he's in Queens. He brought a whole catalog of his cues at Valley Forge (he was there, just not in a booth). A lot of NICE titlist conversions!! If you are looking for one, you should definitely check out Joe's inventory. Also, there are a fair number of Joe's cues in use in the tri-state area. [As I understand it, Joe stopped making them a few years back, and started up again not too long ago.]

You might catch him at Racks in Astoria on occassion (If my memory serves me, Joe is a +2 or a +3 (Frankie Hernandez, Tony Robles, and Ginky are +4's - the last time I saw Jose Parica, he was a +5))

If you want to talk to him, I have his contact info - PM me.

He is, or at least used to be a member here. He used to post in the cuemaker forum, but I don't recall seeing his name in a while.

JosephCues

I believe is/was the name on here.

Wrong! For the record his real name is Joe Franke ( birth certificate) , his nickname is Joe Banks! And yes it is because he is a very good banker of the ball. He was at VF but did not have a booth.

Just for the record his name is Joe "Banks" Franke. Banks is the nickname we gave him because when he started playing, that's all he ever did was bank balls because of the horrible positioning he used to get. So Cuesrus is 100% right on this point. Also I don't think Joe is rated a +. He maybe rated a +1 if anything, but he'll be the first to tell you he's overrated. On another note a plus rating is as followed: If you were rated say an 8 and you play a +2, then you would be recieving the 6 ball as a spot in a game of 9 ball. If you played a +3 you'd recieve the 5. Anything higher and you would start getting games on the wire. Most pro's are rated +4 or higher.

Doh! I stand corrected. I've known Joe for a while, and never once asked for his Birth Certificate! Anyone else here need to clarify their names! lol.

I know this is off topic... But ive been wondering for a while what a "titlist" or a "conversion" is.. can someone help by explaining the background on this subject, and exactly what the two terms mean together, and apart? I would be greatly appreciative!
