That's a nice table, did anyone ever confirm whether the subrails were extended to tighten the pockets, pocket size? That looks like either a GC II or a GC III. The nameplate is not a 1960 Gold Crown to my knowledge; those were a clear plastic resin on the original GC I's, different nameplate, and there are no skirts on this one, those may have been taken off at some point.

I spoke to the owner. Currently owning my third GC I was curious as to why this table hadn't sold. I have considered selling my OS8 to upgrade to a 9'. I was trying to explain the realities of selling a used pool table when he hung up on me. Apparently he thought I was trying to negotiate. I hadn't made an offer.
I was in fact trying to explain why tables have less resale value than we think they should. A GC1 is one of the easiest tables to sell there is. If it doesn't sell in a few weeks, it is overpriced.
We have all met that guy that thinks everything he owns is worth more than it is. I hope he is still trying to sell it this time next year. What a d-head!

Perhaps he hung up because he didn't like the way you were greasin the chute and was of the opinion you were going to submit a low ball offer.

How long someone hangs onto something is often a function of how strong their hands are.

Good luck in your search for a table.

His hands might be the strongest in the world, but at some point, everyone's hands get tired. Question is does he ever want to actually sell the table or not. A more realistic price might at least generate an offer.
