Nick Ekono VS S V B 10-Ball Challenge

using the "magical rack".

Yes, but he fouled on 3 of the wet breaks (and 1 of the dry breaks). So he actually stayed at the table just 43 of the 49 breaks, or 88%.

They must have been using the "magical rack".....who racked for each player?

And like I said...A complete and total destruction. Winning by 29 games!!! He broke and ran out over 53%!!!!! That Greek was in WAYYYYY over his head taking on a monster like Shane.

Anybody and everybody is in over their head playing Shane. IMO he is the greatest pool player God ever built.

Shane's making a ball on the break app. 94% of the time.....that's AMAZING!!!

I did that once. Granted, it was a short race to .94 :grin-square:

If Shane can find "that" zone more often, especially outside of the one on one long sets, who knows how far he can go and what his legacy will be...

KK9 <-- thinks SVB needs jet lag lessons. Or better yet, his own jet.

I felt privileged to be able to see the match. well, all but 45 minutes. I saw the first 30 minutes, then skipped 45 minutes and then watched the rest of the match. I would have guessed that shane was shooting higher than 950. before the match began I knew that svb breaks 10 ball better than anyone on the planet. other than shot making, which nick is certainly capable of doing, it is all about the break so the advantage immediately goes to svb. I saw his 2 matches with kazakis and must say that a different svb showed up yesterday. he seemed more focused and may be that was because there was $$$ on the line. when the score got to svb 15 and leading, it seemed svb looked a lot like earl, with the speed of play and the cb on a string. when svb got to 30 games, then he started really letting his stroke out and it seemed as though he was in one of his 6 to 8 hour practice sessions. a couple of times he tried banking and missed and I do not think he would have tried those shots in a short race tournament. I have seen 90% of earl's matches on stream and svb looked a lot like him yesterday and while nick shot okay, I think he can shoot better than what he showed us yesterday but he reached the point he knew he was doomed. having watched the matches there over the weekend I was certainly impressed with the level of play from the greeks! I want to thank terry, bob, and "greekpool" for one hell of a FREE stream and allowing us to see some great pool matches!:clapping::happydance::woot::dance:

I liked the no commentary. If you dont have Billy or Upstate AL, it's just better without it.

The chat though then gets overloaded with jack-offs especially when you allow any Ustreamer-532987 etc to comment anonymously.

After watching this my respect for SVB went up a notch or two... That 10 Ball break of his is just killer. He struggled with the break in the beginning but after a few games he found the right spot and the right power. That was the end for Nick The Greek.

I could not agree with you more! of course there was no "mod" to take care of that and a couple of the posters needed their ass kicked. when the world is watching you would like to think there would be some decorum but there is always a bad apple. should the guilty parties be from usa,,why can't we just get along? ,,what an embarrassment!

I could not watch because ustream is blocked at work, I'm hoping it was recorded and will pop up again as some other matches on there were.

Shane breaking dry on 3 racks out of 50! And he beat the guy by almost 30 correct?

He beats Corey by a ton of games spotting a US Open winner the 6 ball (or was it 5+6 or 6+7?). He beats just about everyone in his TAR matches, comes in 1st in almost every tournament he enters.

The players must see him walk into a tournament and start asking which of them will come in 2nd.

It was a very entertaining match. I was really impressed with Shane. I've seen him play lots of times online, but this time I really saw a resemblance to Earls play in his heyday. Such perfect cueball control, and lots of brilliant shotmaking as well. Congrats to him.

I think it is unfair to claim that his opponent played poorly. He did miss several kicks and hooked himself a couple of times, but overall it wasn't that bad. The biggest difference IMHO was his break. He came up dry too many times and for some stupid reason refused to change his breakspot, what was up with that? Another difference was his patterns/ position choices. Niko kept getting straight in, while Shane played much better angles. There was also the fact that Shane refused to miss any balls and pocketed 3 balls on nearly every break. He played like an absolute beast!

I think we've all been in the position where the guy you're playing never misses and puts packages together and when you finally do get to the table it's usually not our best game because in the back of your mind is "don't miss cause if/when you do it's going to cost you this one + another 3-6 games. No one is immune to feeling this way and it can make you get more aggressive on kicks, etc.
