Ok i was thinking of this the other day, that Sarah needs a nickname !

i don't understand where the mongoose name would come from..........

i would have to say, it needs to be something about her hair. since she has a different style than most players.

the last time.......she had a mohawk................sarah "mohawk" rousey???

No, you both are vetoed...especially yours StormHotrod. :rolleyes: David Hanshaw already came up with her nickname in Valley Forge. It is Sarah "C-4" Rousey, because like the explosive she has a big bang in such a little package. The only problem is that I have been unsuccessful in getting Steve Tipton to announce this continuously. So, the nickname is decided...it is just a matter of making it stick.

Candyman...my post was not a suggestion. She has a nickname. "C-4". It is a done deal. The nickname threads can stop now, LOL.

Hey whats wrong with Mongoose????


A mongoose is a small animal, but fiesty, and the last time i checked Sarah is kinda short at 5'1 Although i do like " C-4 "

I had thought about Wolverine, but she isnt from the Wolverine state lol. Not that it really matters.

Now, If it was Sarah " the Truth " Rousey, then i would hafta give up my quote lol.

And yes i noticed we didnt acknowledge LS lol, i read the post and was like um ok, and moved on.

After reading up a lil on the Wolverine, i will go with
Sarah " Wolverine " Rousey

Or we can give Sarah the nickname "Carcajou" : a French corruption of an Native American word meaning Evil Spirit or Mountain Devil. The Wolverine is neither a spirit or devil.

Good idea Dave, trying to come up with a nickname. There have been alot of suggestions in the past. Some are pretty good and others are kind of crazy. The whole C-4 name is good, but needs way too much explanation. My friend Tracie Hines suggested Little Giant, that one kind of stuck. You guys are on to something with the wolverine nickname. A real big guy in the pool room about 4 years ago played me everyday. He beat me pretty bad but I never gave up and one day ended up beating him. He said, "she's like a little wolverine...never gives up, just keeps fighting." I'm just not sure I should be named after an animal. I'm sure something clever will come along one day and it will stick....and hopefully not all the bad names I'm called behind my back....just kidding.

I guess keep the ideas coming. Like I said...someone will pick up on something.

yea. wolverines are pretty badass............when they pick a fight with a grizzly bear.........the bear doesn't like it........LOL

I don't think nicknames are 100% important. But I can say that most fans love nicknames. Think about if Jeanette didn't have her nickname...most people would not know who she is or they would refer to her as "that hot asian chick thats always on tv". Most people remember that she is the "black widow" and they know that allison fisher is that "duchess of doom" chick. Another example would be Danny Basavich...he is known by his nickname everywhere. It's just an added touch that every sport has.

hmmm, wonder if shaq, junior(griffey and earnhardt), a-rod, the mailman, dr. j, iron mike, the real deal, etc, etc think its junior high too?

If you think C-4 would take too much explanation, it's a good thing Sarah "Semtex" Rousey didn't stick :D
 
Ummm...strait from the horse's mouth...no animal names...wolverine is out, though it is sooooo much better than mongoose. :rolleyes: And Sarah, the whole explanation of C-4 would just need to happen a few times. I think David is on to something with this one. But Little Giant works too....someone has to decide between the two. What has Steve been calling you the past few tourneys?

Also...I have a gripe with StormHotRod...I read your mongoose post before I went to bed last night. This really bad Japanese, all girl punk rock band, Shonen Knife, sings a song called Cobra V. Mongoose...that song as been in my head all freaking night as well as this morning. And that is a REALLY BAD song!! Thanx!! :mad: :mad:

Is that one already taken??? Like the third time this topic went around (it does so about every 6 months I have noticed) Nostroke suggested Sarah "the Real Deal" Rousey. I admit that I really like that one. Nostroke deleted it soon after he posted it, but not before I saw it. :D

I still say C-4...and I'll bettcha it sticks. :p
