Nip was playing a One Pocket 5 games ahead for $1000! His opponent was on the hill 4 games up and needed 1 ball to win the set. They were playing even. Nip had me to order him an ice tea, and started a run you would not believe! He made a come back like he was a champion One Pocket player! I had to share this with the AZB family today. Nip was awesome in his come back!!! What do you think? Do you know of a great come back like this one? Thanks.

how many balls did nip need to his opponents 1 ?

Is that Nip, as in from the Nip and Tuck Society?

I thought they were mortal enemies of the Lock and Load Gang.

history was made by some random guy beating another random guy in one game of one pocket?

history must be pretty easy to make nowadays...

beats my best one pocket comeback - down +11 to -1 I came back to win that game for $80.

And unfortunately I have been on the receiving end of a brutal comeback. Ahead four games in a last pocket 8 ball match and facing a truly simple one rail bank I dogged the bank by a diamond and from there my opponent won 9 games in a row to beat me out of 2000 DM (about $1200 USD at the time).

They celebrated with some Mad Dog 20/20 purchased from the World's Convenience Store just down the road...

Actually, doesn't that describe all pool pretty well? Is it really "history" when SVB wins another tournament?

I see you did not read the thread! Nip is not a random guy! Now how can a race to five games be one game? And for a $1000.00. Read the thread!!!!

Sean, he did not read the thread!! How are you today? And history was made at Buffalo's Billiards, the Worlds pool hall. It was a race to 5 games.

I got that from ur OP...was just curious how many balls did he have left when his opp needed 1...lol

Houmatroy,
Nip needed 4 balls, when his opponent needed 1 ball and was on the hill! This was a race to five games for $1000.00. Not 1 game like the guy said in another post in this thread! How are you doing Houmatroy?

We still don't know what this come back was. This is one of your vaguer posts, Lock. Yes we know that his opponent was on the hill in a race to 5 and needed one ball...and after pulling teeth we found out that Nip needed 4 in that game, but how many games did Nip have at this point?

But one thing is accurate, because it's over, it is a part of history .

Hey 12,
Nip had no games, when the other guy was on the hill and needed one ball. The coin was on the fourth diamond by the side pocket for Nip's opponent! Nip did win 2 games but that only backed the coin up 2 diamonds. And his OP had went right back to the hill! Is this OK now? Thanks.

am i missing something here? but if Nip won 2 games and the coin went back to 2 games for opponent when he was sitting on 4 games to win the cheese. correct me if im wrong,if Nip won the set to 5 games. I beleive this was a 5 ahead set and not a race to 5...

Hey Balls,
Let me put this in perspective for you! The Op won the first 2 games then Nip won 2 games, the OP then went to the hill and needed only 1 ball to finish the set and win the cheese. This was a One Pocket 5 ahead set! The first man to get to 5 games wins!! You are correct! Thanks.

that is not the definition of "race to 5". "race to 5" means first person to win 5 games. Your quote above indicates the winner is first person to win 3 games.

that is either "race to 3" or "best of 5".

And if you truly meant "race to 5" then OP would be on 4 games with 1 ball left.

either way, sounds like Nip (don't know him) played very well to come back and win.
