NM State Championships?

I saw on the home page that the NM state championships are towards the end of this month at the Billiard Palace in Abq. Does anyone have any more definitive information...dates, fees, ect??
 
I just talked to Mark at the Palace. They are NOT hosting the NM 9-ball Open State Championship. They will be hosting the APA state championship, and hosting an 8-ball Open later on. I don't know where the 9-ball open is...maybe OneUp (formerly the Carom Club)?

Wow, they are running two state tournaments on the same weekend?
 
Nobody in APA in NM could win the state 9-ball anyway, so what difference would it make? All the better players play BCA and VNEA (at least in Abq.)
 
It's usually in September or October around the same time as the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. This past year they didn't have it at all.

I'm not sure they are having it now, I think we are all confused because they are incorrectly calling the APA championships the state tournament.
 
I think that's an unfair statement. Have you seen all the APA players play in NM? I'm sure that there are some 8's and 9's here that can really stroke'em. In fact, I think Anna's (Kostonian) dad is an APA member - there's a guy that can play.
