No more Meucci for this guy

I hate to throw my 2 cents in being a old school Meucci fan but, a teammate of mine on my APA league bought a brand new custom BMC (Bob Meucci Cue) from the factory. He is a old man, retired and he is a sl4, not the best player. He thought Meuccis were the greatest like back in the days. His wife bought him a $1000, supposed to be a one of a kind BMC 2 Christmas' ago. I pleaded with him to get a custom from a cue maker off here but, it's his money and he wanted a BMC. First off, the cue took forever to get to him and when it did, it was a greenish white Gambler hybrid I've seen before with the script righting but his being $1000, he got the BMC logo on it and one shaft. I could feel all the inlays and joints through the finish. About 2 months later the one green long inlay cut another team member playing with it. The inlay was popped out and springy like a diving board. We looked the cue over and 2 more had popped out also, 3 total, one in the forearm and 2 in the butt sleeve. Meucci did take it back and fix it and he was without a cue again for months. I said I would never buy a Muecci unless it was an original and now with this info won't be doing that either.Meucciman, if you think this is a lie, pm me and I'll give you his name to check the facts.

As far as this thread, at least the seller on eBay states they are not original, "ORIGINALS" but, what if the new buyers aren't that honest and buy them to flip to unsuspected buyers? Bob can do what he wants with his company but, I personally think this is wrong. Put a 2 or a C for custom or something in the butt cap bolt area or something.

Good luck Bob Meucci.

:scratchhead:

Show me where the seller says---they are not the original Originals.

It doesn't say it anywhere. No matter what this sellers says, it's usually bullshit and people will get sucked in and think he is just the greatest.

I never said anyone had lied about anything, I have MUCH Meucci's, old originals and scripted. Never had a single problem out of them. I don't just have 2 or 3, I have lots. No problems what so ever!

I am not trying to defend the seller because it does not directly say it. How ever it does say it in a round about way! ''As you can see these cues have classic good looks coupled with the Meucci Original block logo lettering.''

I have had and played with Meucci's on and off for the past 30 years. I have never had one fall apart in any way, shape or form. Most were origionals and all played very nice. I never broke with them either. The only cue I had come apart (Inlays swelled) was a Russ Espiritu that I bought new and traded at SBE as soon as this was discovered, I would never buy another.

pro meucci

Bought a Meucci 97-10 when I started to play a little more seriously. Did not know a lot about cues but it felt good to me and looked good. Came with the red dot shaft. I decided at a later date to order a second shaft. It came promptly. Some time later I started to hear a "click" when I stroked a ball and discovered that the ferrule was loose. My local cue guy informed me that he could replace the ferrule but it would be shorter than the one that came with the shaft. I did not want to do this and returned it to Meucci. They replaced the ferrule and sent it back to me by prepaid courier. I subsequently have added a Black Dot Shaft and have never had a problem with it. Love my cue!

If someone knows what they are looking at you can tell right away if the cue is a Meucci original vs. the newer Meucci original.

You are correct, but that really does not make a difference - to me at least. It's the point they are the 'same'.
