No new Cues Til Things Straighten Out

I buy cues for looks and taper. I like to presume straight but that's not always the case.

On looks,
Not bling. Plain is fine.

The theme of many of your posts seems to be how can I not pay people a fair price for a cue.
And I think this one is a winner. After all, I see joss cues for a grand. Custom merry widow for 3400. What a joke. Scruggs went from 1200 to 1800 to 3000 in months. The sellers arent wanting to sell at those prices so I'm not wanting to buy.

We really don't need to know what you don't plan on doing, if everyone starts posting what they are going to do this place will be chaos.
I went to work this morning, vacuumed the tables, wet wiped them with Woolite, polished all the balls in the Diamond, and need to do the drawers/QuickBooks. I'll probably have burgers and dogs on the grill, and go to the range and test some loads out I've been wanting to try.
Ya mean like this? Brian.

I see many nice cues for sale but I'm gonna wait. I think hard times are ahead.

No new Cues Til Things Straighten Out....

If you''re a hunchback forget it..... otherwise Buy Now Cry Later. Seriously...there's always a cue to buy.

Fair price... If it's custom... Could anyone understand what goes into fabricating a cue. The cost of machines, supplies, overhead, wear & tear, cue makers talent. What is being sold is worth double at minimum. I do not know any "Well Off" cue makers. They do not retire early. Buyers...like what you see. Can afford it buy it.. But don't complain about the makers fee. Buy something you can afford. Are the cues for playing or collecting?
Myself? I cut back on smoking and drinking... and only interested in Rich or Doc Frye cues if I was looking.

I’ve been buying as selling cues since 85 fwiw

The last year the cue biz has been very good for me. I’ve sold some very high $ cues. Some very low $ cues and everything in the middle. I haven’t tried very hard either. I get messages from people and they are buying and I’m buying as well. I’ve sold more $’s than I’ve spent recently. Of course that can change real fast

While I agree with your assessment of the economy, cues seem to be going the other direction.

It’s been my experience that the cue market has its own mind and isn’t linked to the overall economy. Pool is strong now, that’s driving sales. Again across all price points. To put it in perspective the most expensive cue I sold was $80,000 the least was $200. Most I spent was $6500.

So moving into this next year, I’m pretty confident in the cue biz.

At my age a good bowel movement would be a great day.

The op is a tad dense. I keep him on Ignore but chek in to see if he's improved. No. Nothing is going to happen in the near future that is going to let him buy his dream cue for the price he envisions. He needs to wake up and join the real world.
