Hey guys,

Anyone heard of a cue brand or maker that uses the named "Rich" ?

That's all I know about this cue.

Rich cues..

Made some sweet old school cues. A girl plays with one where I play... I've been trying to buy it off her but show won't budge!

Yeah, Rich Q's. Do a search here and you should find a ton of stuff.

I've searched and use various combinations of "Rich Cue" "Rich Q's" "Rich custom cue," "RichCue"

I couldn't find anything on here or google.

Can you please send me a link.

abe rich of star cue manufacturing?

I honestly don't know but here is the STORY:

I met a gentlemen and he was moving from his home. He had a cue and wanted to sell it. He said it was a "Rich" cue and it was 19 ounces and it comes with a hard case. I drove 45 minutes to meet him, I was bored I wanted a nice drive on this beautiful sunny day.

*I came over to the guy's house, I paid $50 for the "Rich" cue and the brown hard tube case.

*He then says "I have another cue, are you interested?
I said, "well, might as well, kill two birds with one stone."
The gentlemen wanted $20 for the second cue which is dark brown and a pleatherish soft case. I only had $16 bucks left, and he said, Are you sure? Do you have gas money? I said, "oh well, I have a few bucks on my WaMu checking. He took the $16 bucks and we shook hands.

So, paid $66 bucks for the 2 cues and 2 cases, and probably wasted $7-9 bucks worth of gas to and from. Please help me identify the Dark brown cue as well as the hard Case.

Do you guys think it was worth it??

The darker Brown cue and the Brown "leather (I assume)" hard Case.

BOTH cues are quite straight, both appear old. The Rich cue is in way better condition than the Dark brown cue.

The Rich cue: Cosmetically: 9.4/10
Straightness: 9.9/10
Irish Linen, No major nicks, dings, or dents.

The Dark Brown: Cosmetically: 8/10
Straigtness: 9.7/10

Probably Irished linen or synthetic, ester?
Few scraps in the clear cloar on the butt end.

The points on this Dark Brown cue are shorter than a standard cue, probably 2-3".

case

The second case looks like an Supercase with the storage top like that.

With the cash and gas, you broke even.
That is much nicer than the Vikingish Rich's I've seen in the past.
The house cue conversion is nice also with the added Hoppe ring.

Paraphrased from the BB, Rich Cue Company begain in 1912 in NY. Made many thousands of cues until Saul Rich sold the Co to Ike Algaze in 1970 who in turn sold it to Imperial 5-6 yrs later. Imperial ceased Rich cues in 1982. Says for more info, contact P Rubino.

Doesn't say much else. Overall, they're kinda like a Mali or Viking with a longer history.

While the first maker I think of when I hear Rich is Abe of Star cues, this doesn't look like his work. Why would he put RICH on it instead of Star?

Lovin' that hoppe style cue. Would look classy with just a white linen wrap. At least you got some nice players for you buddies when they stop by.

That shinny silver cirle under the table is just part of the table's metal frame. Thre are four of them which are contact points of the glass top. =)
LOL. Thanks 1/2Fastbanker

I may just have that hoppe style cue rewrapped with irish linen, if I plan to keep it.
