Non permanent marker?

Hello everybody on azB.
I'm new on posting here on the forum but have been reading a lot of posts the last 6 months while working on a room in the cellar for a pool table.
Yesterday I got the table and slate deliverd and a question popt into my mind.
I mostly play 9-ball but I like snooker to and have bought a set of balls so I can play (I know it's not what a pool table is made for but it would be just for mixing it up)

My question is if there is a good way to mark up where the snooker balls should be without damaging the cloth and also a non permanent mark since when I am finished with snooker I don't want to have dots market on the table. Is there any good pen that fades after 24h or something like that?

Best regards from Sweden

Office supply stores here in the states have thin, round, stickers in various colors. I use them to mark table for drills. They are as thin or thinner then the standard foot spots. Dont affect ball roll. And they peel right off. If you leave them on for an extended period, you will have little clean spots on table.

Taylors chalk, or what I like is soapstone, 50 cents at any welding supply. Either can be sanded to a fine point, and come off with damp cloth.

Flip a piece of chalk upside down and lightly mark where you want. Brush it out and it's gone. Plus it's free. :)

If you play any amount of snooker wouldn't it be a pain to mark the table every time? If it was me I'd make small dots with a marker and mark the D and be done with it. I have played 9 ball on tables marked like this and you won't notice.

Soap markers (tailor's chalk), which can be found at a fabric or hobby store. Test it on the inside of a pocket if you're still hesitant. I used them for years back when I played snooker on my nine footer.

I use a white fabric pencil. They come in all colors.

Just use blackboard chalk. Sharpen the chalk with a piece of sand paper so you can make better line. I just sand it to a bevel and use the sharpend edge. It will just brush away when you are done and can be renewed easily.

Thank you for all the good suggestions!
I will definitely try this tips out.
Hopefully there will be some spare cloth over after the table is put up that i can test on without any worries, otherwise i will go with the tip about inside a pocket first.

I was thinking about if it was annoying to have the marks and D line all the time so that i don't need to set it up when its time for the snooker but i think I would get annoyed of it, maybe not while playing but when looking at the table if that makes sense.
Im thinking of making smal marks (stickers etc) on the side of the table so i only need to take out a laser and the marks will be easy to get on the correct spots when i need them again.
The D i think will be easy to get with a string attached to the marker.

Buy an old overhead projector (the ones that used to be used in schools). Modify it to be installed in your pool table lighting fixture. Draw whatever templates you need for games, drills, sports team logo's, etc. And voila!
