Normal Shaft Deflection - How do you do it?

I don't like the LD shafts.
I have several from pre-cat 314 to the latest 314-3, Z2 and Z3, BD, OB, Tiger, Mezz....

Always go back to a regular solid maple shaft with a Triangle tip.
For me it's the simplest way to shoot and it comes naturally to compensate.

To answer your "how do you do it" question:
If you're using english just move your back hand in or out, very little, and keep the tip where you want it.
Problem solved and you get to feel everything you put into the hit.
Not only that I actually find it very unnatural to put english on one end of the cue and NOT compensate with the stroke hand.

Agreed!! I've played with Predator shafts exclusively for over 8 years. If I happen to find myself without my equipment I struggle mightily. I use too much spin so that doesn't help at all. Once you get used to an LD shaft it's very difficult to go back.

I shot for a long time with a "standard" Russ Espiritu shaft, then got a 314-2 and hit with it for a while. The other day I put my old shaft back on the cue and actually liked the feel better. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I agree with your point, but I dont think a great example, because Mosconi hit mostly short shots on one half of the table.

Why???? why do we need to analyze it .... dissect it..... probe it.............etc.

Grab a stick and learn to play with ............ Mosconi ran 526 balls with a big fat stick ....

And Mosconi had no LD shaft,no layered tip,no "premium" chalk,no Red Bull to drink.
And i don't think he had an aiming system.
Might have run 527 with the modern stuff.

Agree here. Crane, Mosconi, Balsis, etc. all played pretty much half-table 14.1. With full table rotation games LD shafts can be helpful.
