Yes, like me, you ARE a player. BTW at DCC I had a straight pool game tentatively lined up with Efren for $100 (??or $200, I don't remember) - even up; as soon as he got knocked out of the 9-ball or one-pocket. Unfortunately he won both and our match didn't materialize - I think he was just ducking me.

I figure I have a better chance against Efren than Vagabond, so I had to lower the stakes (but now I have more "barrels").

P.S. - Besides, all Vagabond has to do is beat me a thousand ahead and he'll make some real cash.
 
I10 and I40 are pretty close to me I think Vbond?.......Sorry I'm new to Florida (near Daytona) I'm always up for a good game of 1-pocket or 14.1. I can't just throw out arbitrary spots, but what ever is fair is fair in my book. I'm not gonna say I suck or can't make a ball cause I don't hustle, I just like to play. it does'nt have to be high betting or anything, enough to keep it fun and interesting............Gerry

Hi,
Williebetmore likes to play 14.1. I was only testing him.I do not play that game because I hate that game.I hate that game because I do NOT know how to play that game and it is a very tough game.Another reason I do not like it is because of the amount of time permitted to shoot a ball.I do not like slow play.Thanks for the offer.

I'm not far from you. Just north of daytona and plenty of 9 foot tables. There are alot of players down there, but if you have a hard time let me know, there are people up this way also, depending on your level of play, who you are willing to match up with, and who is willing to matchup with you etc. I don't know if browns is still open down there, but seems like alot of people use to play out of there. There are others also that slip my mind at the time. We have a few people from down there that come up here to play, so I could find out where the place to be is now days if you have'nt found them all yet. Just let me know, and I'll check into for you.

If you just want a cheap friendly game then that is probably the easiest. That's really the only kind I will play anymore personally, because I don't hustle, but know others that will do more, and don't hide their game. If it's friendly enough I am not really worried about someones level of play, and don't really take spots nor do I give them. if we're talking buck racks or small races then I don't care if you are a pro, as long as you are good people, give me some good competition, and force me to focus harder. The local tourneys up here are on sunday and wednesday. Probably find a few people afterwards to play, or as they get knocked off, depending on what kind of competition you are looking for. just be honest about your game, show what you have up front, and you will probably get matched up perfectly. If noone there is good enough to match up, you never know who may show up looking for a game. Seems like you should have no problem matching up down there unless you are a really strong player, but if your ever going to be up this way let me know. I prefer 9 ball, but will play 8, I use to play alittle 1p many years ago, but been a long time, and really have'nt played in a while. Anyway welcome to our neck of the woods, if your ever come up this way just PM me and I'll try to show up when possible.

Thanx Greg, That's nice of you! I don't do much stalling or messing around. Back home I knew every player and how to play them. Down here I just don't want to make any enemies too quickly;). I have been practicing at Browns lately (last few weeks) and got one cheap 1-pocket game for 10 beans a rack. The young guy wanted to play 9-ball, but I can control a 1-pocket game alot better than someone stringing racks on me. He also said there's not much 14.1 locally, which is my favorite game. I started playing again about a month ago after a 3 year layoff. I'm at about 80% speed now. It's hard to guage myself playing 1-pocket, but I feel I'm thinking the shots out pretty well, I'll run 40's + or - playing 14.1. 1-pocket is easier for me to play better now since I don't have to be in deadpop to play it well. Your near Daytona now?, or did you mean you live north of there?. Anyway, thanx again......I'm sure we'll bump into eachother sometime soon...........Gerry

I up in Saint Augustine, It may be 15-30 minutes north of daytona. have you met an older gentleman named larry with Glasses yet? He's one of the guys that comes up here, and may be seen in Browns. As long as you play your "A" game, and don't shark too much, you won't get anyone upset around here. The guys I shoot with are just pool lovers like us, and respect anyone with a good game. If You ever come up here, and I see your game, I can tell you who's a decent match, and good people to shoot with. Mostly 9 ball & 8 here, but a few will play some one pocket, As far as My 9 ball game, I don't always string racks together, but I'll be honest somenights on rare ocassion I do get in stroke. I tend to play better under the gun, when the pressure forces Me too. If I don't feel I have anything to prove, or nothing to shoot for then I can't play worth a lick. It tends to even fool people That know me well, so that's why I don't play for much, they really underestimate me watching me bang balls in practice or playing for fun, then I feel like I hustled them, even though they should know I'm better then that. It's just the nature of My game though not a hustle, that's one thing I don't partake in, hence the reason I just like to play for change, it helps the focus alittle and noone gets a bad taste from It. If I get a chance to re-coop some table time I'm happy with that. Anytime you feel Like coming up, just PM Me, and I will give you the info. You can get there from A1A because It's on the beach/Island.
