Well I met up with him again in Melbourne this past weekend for the 10 ball Seminole Pro Tour and he did it again!!! He was one of the nicer guys there. So for any of you that would like to vent about how he acts in some of his matches I have not personally seen it.

So Earl I have to tell you 'Thanks' from a fan. I appreciate you taking the time.

I would have to agree; I was at the tourney and he was pretty decent to talk to. Don't get me wrong, there were typical Earl mind tricks going on with some of the players but, after the matches Earl was easy to talk to.

I disagree. I have never met Earl, and have never been to watch him play in any tournament. Yet not once in all that time did he have the good grace to ring up and ask why.

Boro nut's English humour must have evaded you.

You could have just said whoosh Tony, and saved yourself 12 syllables. Anyway, me and my mates are going fishing on Sunday. You are welcome to come along and shot bricks in the water if you like. I’ve been groundbaiting all week and that’s the first bite I’ve had.

I've been friends with Earl since the early 80's. He's really a nice guy when you get to know him. He's one of the greatest competitors in the history of any sport IMHO!

Thats what I think everyone who doesnt like earl miss's,He's a world champ and he doesnt like to lose and very competive so when he plays, his heart is in it 100%.But, if you meet him later after the event he is one of the nicest pro's out there! He's cocky when he plays, but he has a right to be with his list of acomplishments

Some people just get really "into it" when it comes into any type of competition.
Earl is just one of those people.
But i'm sure that everybody that thinks badly of Earl because of this is perfect in everyway.

Jon the people that have a problem with earl are the same people that say winning isnt everything!! or one of those other stupid sayings when you lose! You know who thought of those LOSERS did to make themselves feel better!! These people are losers and cant understand the desire to win. They are the people that have never really competed in anything in thier life and they are content to never win anything because they know they are not GOOD enought to win. Earl gets into a zone he doesnt care what the hell he says and who he says it too. He wants to win bottom line!!! Just like anyone competing that wants to win!

Gagged girls dont say no!!

I am sorry for not biting earlier. You are a very funny Nut.

Although I don't agree with his "antics" at the table from time to time, but as I've done several times in the past, I must defend Earl. Away from the competitive table, he's one of the nicest, friendliest, easiest-to-talk-to, more than happy to sign an autograph or just chit-chat people I've encountered in the professional pool world. I've found that many of the Earl-bashers out there are people who have never met him "off the table". Sure, winning isn't everything to everyone, but in his case, winning is his living, not just a local league as pool is to many of us. Plus, to be competitive and win at that level, you've got to have a little "edge" to your game/personality.
