Now that gas is super cheap

Gas...

Gas for a vehicle has never been the major cost of traveling to play in pool tournaments. That is a small portion of the cost...hotels and food are a major cost. Also, travel by airplane is a major expense. I much prefer to travel by air if the drive is more than 6 hours as this is when my time becomes more valuable than the cost. I tend to stay in decent hotels that run $90-$140 per night and I tend to eat at decent restaurants and not fast food establishments. I drive a car that gets between 30 and 40 mpg. Right now it is averaging 34 mpg. Saving $5-$20 per trip is not going to make or break my trip.

Just going to Indy from Columbus area for the tourney at Brickyard Billiards will run me at least $350 for food, gas, hotel, entry fee, and if I can get myself for $40 in the calcutta. Last time I played there, I went for $80 in the calcutta. I don't know if anyone went for $40 or less. I played in Streetsboro, OH which is a 2-hr drive this past weekend and cost was $140 entry fee, calcutta, three meals, tolls, and gas. Gas was probably about $15-$20 roundtrip.

When you go busted (not you in particular) 300 miles from home and your scraping gas money to get there...... This cheaper gas would make a difference.

Motorhome

If you have a motor home you take on the road it will cut your expenses greatly. Gas here went from 3.90 to 1.90. Thats a pretty good savings on 6 MPG. I predict if gas stays this cheap for another few years every pool hall parking lot will need RV hookups for all the roadies that will be out stackin and jackin...lol The real crime is Diesel is still high, what a rip.

$2 cheap?

Not only is the super cheap......the regular is even cheaper.
:)

I sold my last car when gas went up to $1.50 a gallon seventeen years ago. As one might guess, it put a crimp in my pool activity.

Not to mention that when I started playing, petrol was 25 cents a gallon...

It's pretty apparent that (s)he's just a troll...
