Now that Schmidty has left, Marop gets back on his table

He would have shot 6 on my table, maybe 0. Are they 5"?

On my table playing the ball down rail, you can put 1/4 of a ball blocking the the horn and the ball still won't go. Like below.

CueTable Help

Jason, I don't understand this reply... What does "he would have shot 6 on my table, maybe 0" mean?

I did a diagram. His opening shot on the 60+ run wouldn't have hit pocket on my table. He is doing great runs, but the pockets are massive. I thought the metro would have tighter pockets.

I happen to have a picture of his pockets. Two balls don't fit in so I don't think it is a 5" opening.

I wonder why they play so loose, they look tight. They have the same opening as mine, but that 4 up the rail wouldn't have hit pocket on my table. Does it play easier than a diamond and do they all play like that?

I would answer your questions but due to the tone of your initial post I don't want to enlighten you on anything to due with pool. You seem to know everything already.

Next time you see Schmidt ask him how my table plays.

No tone, I just dont make very long post (most of time). I watched your videos and you are getting great runs, seems like every day. I showed a cuetable diagram of how tight my table plays, I am thinking my table is cut wrong or yours was loose. I just picked a poor way of wording it.

I am just learning this game and watch and post here for help. Wasn't trying to be a pecker.

I think after looking at the picture it is the cut. The back of my pocket is an 1" smaller than at the horns.

bump for another nice run.

67 this time:

p.s. The pockets look plenty tight to me. My understanding is that in the old days, 14.1 was played on much looser tables than this one. This 14.1 on diamonds is a creature of our time and I heard many players at the World 14.1 Championship complain that 14.1 wasn't meant to be played on tables like that.
Other old timers have told me the same thing.

Take a look at the jaws, they are almost parallel. At our club the practice table (GC IV) I use has jaws that have more angle creating a "throat" and it won't take harder shots as easy as with almost parallel jaws. I have a photo somewhere on my comp, can post it later for comparison.

I might change mine. That table plays way better with the same size opening. I might do a video to show how tight my table plays.

I posted a video of my pockets on the main page.

I had a GCI for twenty years, sold it, bought a Diamond about 10 years ago. I can tell you that 14.1 on the Diamond is much more challenging. I am going to 760 to speed it up a bit. I now have 860 but find I have to hammer the balls apart, and given these pockets, accuracy goes out the window. It makes 14.1 play border on tedious.
