ob-1 shaft or iv

I think you would be happy either way, but I gotta say that I LOVE the OB1's!! I have never seen the schon version with the logo, that is cool. It seems that the difference between that and a standard OB1 may be the use of phenolic at the joint?

I gotta put my vote on the OB1, but that is just me!


Ideally, you should find one to try out first, but I really think you would like it.
 
OB-1, less cueball squirt, lighter and a lot less feel.
Schon, more squirt, feels more solid and heavier.
 
i have an xshaft on my schon and love the hit, i think its feels better than the stock shaft.

What's wrong with the shaft you have now? If you just want an extra shaft, I would go with the Schon iv. Premium hard rock maple with an ivory ferrule and Schon's proprietary tip. Yes, it will have a little more squirt than the OB1, but if that's why you are missing then you just need to learn how to adjust.
 
i just need an extra shaft. also want to try another size in diameter . im playing w 12mm think ill try 12.5 or 12.75
 
The question is: why are you looking for a new shaft? These are two very different shafts, and I think the answer can be very simple if you tell us why you're looking for a new shaft. Joeyincali gave a good rundown of how each play.

It would be a much more difficult question to answer if you had asked whether to buy a 314 or an OB1; or an X-shaft vs an OB1. But this question seems fairly uncomplicated.

If low deflection is your priority, go OB1. If a heavier, more solid shaft is your desire then go the Schon route. Case closed.
