First of all, thanks to all those who have chimed in about how much they like their OB-1 Cue Shaft!
Let me say to all that have an OB-1 cue shaft or are thinking about getting one: “Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.” What we mean is that if you have one of our products and you have a problem with it, contact us. We will do our best make it right. You can email us at
rbunnell@obcues.com, or you can call us toll free at 877-399-9901. We are available pretty much 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. If you miss us, please just leave a message and we will get back with you when we return.
Dareads,
To answer your question about how little you’ve heard about us: yes, we are a small company but we’re growing because of customer acceptance. We have been building OB-1 cue shafts for a couple of years. We’re now in a new facility with more workers and are able to approach a broader market.
Poolcuemaster,
About “Splintering”: A few of our customers have experienced this problem. In all cases reported to us, we have either repaired the problem, or replaced the cue shaft. The number of occurrences is very low. While most OB-1 shafts will never have this problem, there are a few things that can be done to lessen the likelihood that it will occur. We use a number of steps and products to “Condition” and “Seal” the cue shaft during the final stages of its manufacture. If this “Conditioning” and “Sealing” is stripped away they should be replaced. There are many shaft sealing and conditioning products out there that will do this, or we can do it for you. Sanding or cleaning with a solvent based cleaner is usually what removes the sealers. I should mention that once a cue shaft absorbs some of the oils from your hands and develops that natural “Patina”, the likelihood of this problem occurring is virtually zero.
