OB Break shaft

Are they low deflection shafts?

I was thinking of getting a Jump break cue made with it. But if they are then i think they are not going to be able to do any jumping. Just like a pred shaft.

Has anyone tried before?

I have an OB breakshaft on my Predator BK2 butt. It is lower deflection than normal shafts. It allows you to hit the cue ball slightly off center and the cue ball still travels straight. (Some people refer to this as the cue/shaft having a large "sweet spot".)

I would not use the OB break shaft for jumping. It is not designed for that.

But now that you mention this........ my jumping ability has increased significantly since acquiring a LOMAX JUMP CUE. It really is a superior jump cue.

I guess I just believe in having separate and specialized equipment for jumping, breaking and playing...

I have an ob break shaft on my j&j and am able to jump with it if there is decent distance to cover. But like joeya said the lomax jump is so much better

I agree with Joey on this. I have the OB break shaft on my break cue. They are lower deflection tham most break cues but you still have to be close to center to get a decent break. You can jump with it but it's not as easy as a dedicated jump cue with a phenolic tip.

I like the 3 piece dedicated jump cues. Jump cues vary greatly and their performance matters. In my opinion, you can break with almost any good, solid cue. I just ordered a Lomax jump cue too on Joey's recommendation.
