Anybody out there play with both? Kinda thinking about one. I know this is very subjective like best beer, etc. Since i can't test drive either i thought i'd check here. Any input would be awesome, Bill

I can vouch for the OB classic. Plays great. One my favorite LD shafts!

Thanks. I'veheard a lot of good stuff about OB+'s. Would really like to A-B a OB+Classic and a BD SS360. Wish somebody had a demo program.

Not risking all that much. But a shaft and if you don't like it, sell it, and maybe you lose 25%. But, I'm betting you won't sell it, because just too many great things about OB cues and shafts.

So, with all else being equal I'd go with the American company with the better customer service (OB)

Is the SS360 not US-made? I had assumed those were custom shafts.

I have no opinion on this matter as I've never tried the SS360, but I do know OB makes a very good product.

Dunno, but neither will change your life.

And your little quip accomplishes what? I asked a question, if all you got is that why bother?

It accomplishes The Thaiger Equation: make a useless quip in random posts. It's one of the Laws of Nature you would have learned in high school if you hadn't cut classes to go play pool.

So, with all else being equal I'd go with the American company with the better customer service (OB)

And make sure you use some Russian chalk with it...sorry, I couldn't resist

Honestly, the best way is to order both, compare them side-by-side and sell the loser. Either one will move pretty quickly at 80-85% of what you paid.

One question that AZers might be able to answer is "is the SS360 a stiff hit like the OB+Classic?" If the SS360 is more like an OB2 (softer hit) then there's a big difference between them, but you've got to know if you like a soft hit or a stiff hit.

Oh, you're right. I don't know why, but I though the SS360 was a Lucasi product for some reason ?? Yes, looks like Daniels in the good old USA build LD shafts...learn something new everyday. Be a lot easier if folks mentioned the maker and NOT the model number ;)

I have played with both shafts and I believe they have about the same amount of deflection but I believe the OB classic shaft makes it a little easier to move the cue ball around.

.

LOL. OK, got me there ;) I do try and buy American products when they are better than an overseas one. With that being said, there are a few products I buy that are from many countries because they work well, or taste great :)

I'm not looking for the best price per se, but the best product.

To save you a few hundred dollars?

No shaft will change your life, especially if you canvass opinion on a forum.

I don't believe changing his life was an objective. The guy was looking for advice on which shaft to get. If you offered any info on either, you may have saved him money, or done anything at all really. As it stands, you've added a useless thread to weed through.

Well done.

I purchased an OB+ classic 1 month ago, when I tried it out, as advertised, it had a "firm crisp" hit.....I would certainly purchase it all over again and the 314=2 hasn't left my case since purchasing the OB..the diameter was a little more than the 314=2 but it took maybe 2 hours to get used to it....;).

Hey, trolls gotta eat too ;)

I tried numerous LD shafts including an SS360 at 11.75 mm. My experience wasn't so good. To be fair, I don't think Bob was making shafts that small at the time. Obviously, there area lot of satisfied customers that have his product.

Several have suggested you buy both and sell the loser. I agree with that, it is exactly what I did. Spending $20 or so to find the shaft that is best for you seems like a small price to pay.
