1 1/2 year old OB 2 shaft has separation of wood behind the ferrule.
Is there a guarantee?
What to do?

Cut it off & replace it with a very long flexible ferrule.

Did you buy it new? I'm not sure how long the warranty is, but I have heard that OB is very much customer satisfaction oriented.

Good Luck.

Stay Well & Stop Breaking with It.

Good idea, I'll tell him to use surgical tubing.:)

If you bought it new, contact OB (send them a pic) and asked if it's covered by a warranty. Sounds like it's a manufacturing problem, which they should fix😃

Maybe use a piece of enema hose. So when someone says something that you do not like, you can sort of point the stick in their direction & say, 'Up Yours!'.

THEN... if they say something, you can explain about the ferrule being a piece of enema hose & that since so much crap was coming out of their mouth that their other end must be stopped up & could use a little help unclogging it.

Thanks.
I'll ask.
So there is a warrantee.

Owen Bunnell Inc. (OB) warrants, to the original retail purchaser, all OB products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product when purchased from an authorized OB Dealer.

I guess it's up to them to decide if it's from a defect or from abuse.

As an aside, whats the joint?

Shane Sinnott is a long time contributor to this site, so when he gets a moment, he'll prolly get in touch with you. I think he's off to a billiard expo in Asia right now.

Freddie <~~~ thinking of Royce

3/8-10 OB 125.
Thanks

I know a guy who had the same problem. The ferrule and shaft split in half. According to him OB told him it wasn't covered because the tip was too thin.

Perhaps their shafts are like delicate flowers that need constant loving.

For every 10 people I hear praise OB and their great customer service there's always one.. I think your talking about your own shaft.

You could try googling "ob cues warranty" or "ob cues phone number" and similar depending on your preferred mode on contact.

Or am I missing something?

I already put the contact link in the 3rd post to this thread. Don't know what the big issue is here. Just call Shane...

There are two outcomes from contacting OB.

1. OB denies the warranty repair. You're in the same boat you are now, look for other options.

2. OB will repair it under warranty. You send it in.
