I was just wondering if anyone who has played with an OB Classic (or Classic Pro) shaft has upgraded to an OB Classic plus (or Classic Pro plus). If so, how do you like the new, comparatively? Also, what is the "modified conical taper" And how does that compare to the standard "pro taper?"

I was able to try out the OB Classic 12.7mm) yesterday
Lamination of the shaft is different than before: taper is slightly more conical it seems to me- deflection of the shaft is absolute identical compared to the predator 314/2 BUT OB was able to keep that great hit-
Apart from the standard tip that I would immediatly take off and substitute by a kamui this shaft is absolutely great!

I haven't had the opportunity to play a "+" shaft yet, but I did switch from an OB Pro Taper (OB1 and OB Classic) to an OB Conical Taper (OB2).
Honestly, I didn't notice any difference in the taper. For me it just wasn't an issue. Initially I was very nervous about making the change, particularly since I shoot with a closed bridge and I thought the conical looked "fat", but it was a non-event.
The change to an 11.75mm tip (from 12.75mm) was a bigger issue...for about 3 hours. I adjusted to the smaller tip pretty quickly and now prefer it.

Yes, my main concern is the feel of the conical taper with closed bridge as well as the smaller diameter tip. I absolutely love my OB Classic! I'm. Looking to change only because I've noticed a small crack, or one of the laminates coming loose.

I've been playing with the OB Classic for about 2 years & loved it. I picked up a very slightly used OB Pro & love it even more but I grew up playing with a converted cue that had a 13mm conical taper. Personal I sort of like that you can take a lighter closed bridge with less stress & then have it tighten up at & beyond contact.
Oh yea the OB Pro is 30" & the Classic was 29". I like the 30 better.

Ob classic to Ob classic plus
I have shot with an Ob classic for some time and I really enjoyed shooting with it. I did switch over to the new Ob classic plus when it first came out. I am sure Ob is correct when they say that the classic plus has less deflection but to be honest, it does not change my aim point on the object ball. It does however hit a bit stiffer, more like a regular shaft. I got used to the hit of the classic plus in a very short amount of time and never went back to the regular classic.
