OB1 shafts - pro taper?

Okay, I am going to try the OB1 shaft. After reading a lot of threads here, and after searching the web for OB1 shafts, I can't determine if they come with a pro taper? I even played with an OB1 but didn't notice if it had a pro taper.

PS If they don't come with a pro taper I am not touching it.

Here is something I cut'n paste from www.obcues.com. :"The taper on the OB-1 is longer than most cues. In a normal shaft, this leads to inconsistent cue ball control. Due to the stiffness of the unique construction of the OB-1, there is no whippy or inconsistent feel. Actually, the longer taper combined with this stiffness gives you the benefit of increased cue ball spin when you need it."

The shaft has a little different taper than what you most likely are use to, but it's "pro taper like". I don't think you would be unhappy because of the tapper.

But do give the shaft some day's of hard practice. I missed some easy shots in the beginning but after some days of practicing everything fell in to place and I simply can't go back to the old 314s. I have three 314 shafts which is permanently parked simply because I can't play with them due to the feeling I get; Hard, clunky sound and loss of feeling.

This is however my subjective judgement. It seems like either people love them or then they can't stand them.

The OB1 does have more feel than the 314, out of several shafts I tried on a Joss, it was the closest in feel to the standard shaft. The taper is a bit thicker than the pro it seems, it goes thicker sooner, but not too much. I think that's called a euro style taper maybe? Also, the 2 OB1s I have tried have a wider tip than the 314s, which have gone very thin, that would make a difference in how the stick feels when you stroke. I do believe that can be turned down by someone who knows what they are doing
