There's really only one main objective to any aiming systems:

1) Help you find your aim lines consistently (Find your center)?

Once you have a consistent way of finding your lines without guessing (what ever method you want to use), you can start to focus and practice on your stroke knowing that you line of aim is accurate.

The rest is all about practicing and learning about your stroke, visualization, strategy and preparation for any shots. I find that drills is the number one component in helping a player improve their games. Doing the drills help you learn about your stroke...why you missed and why you make the ball. At the end of the day, the cue ball don't lie. Learning to see the reaction of the ball after the hit tell you everything you need to improve in your stroke.

Happy holiday to all.

I'd just like to point out that you have used the word objective in a different context.

You have used the word in a manner as to mean purpose.

You have not used it in a manner as to rule out subjectivity.

You have not used it to associate it with a visual object.

I just thought that that should be made clear.

Merry Christmas, Tony.

Words can be used in different contexts & have different meanings & human beings do make mistakes at times.

I think I know your intent & I have never said that I am perfect & do not make mistakes.

Perhaps I should look up all of you past posts & copy & save them for future reference.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to You & Yours,

Only one who is truly omniscient would know my intent.

Knock yourself out, it is a free country. Personally we all would be better spending more time at the table, then at this site.

Tony,

Yes, you are correct on both counts.

However...I guess you missed the word THINK when I said,

'I THINK I know your intent'.

Merry Christmas Rick. For Christmas, I got you the definitions of the words. They are in the other thread. Yes, words do have different meanings and contexts. Something you have never admitted to until now. So, with that now known by you, you can now take the words used in the proper context with the proper meaning, and see that Stan is 100% correct.

That is, unless you want to use a different meaning to suit some agenda. But, you wouldn't stoop that low...

Yes, Rick, he used the word correctly. He did not choose to use a different meaning for the word that does not fit correctly. When you have a word that has several meanings, you can not just use the definition that does not fit the situation and then claim that the wrong word was used.

Also, if you were to bother to read the definitions as they are, instead of with a bias to find what you are looking for, you would see that objective does not have to be subjective, but can be subjective. So, why keep throwing subjectivity in there where it doesn't belong? Just to suit your false agenda??
