The link i posted above has a picture. I was sketching ideas yesterday, when I thought I'd Google it to see if it already existed. It does lol....

I think its very cool and the possibilities are endless. I'm not sure how great it would be in cues with the the interlocking key but the joint alone with epoxy should be fine. If you can visualize the cue square being turned round, your effectively cutting away a lot of the glued surface area. Lengthening the angle would help substantially. The great thing about the one in the top view is that one fixture could make all the cuts and you would only have to change the position of the work pc.
 
I definitely think it's a cool joint, maybe not ideal for cues though... The splicing of two or more woods is what got me interested in cues in the first place, so i'm always thinking about different construction methods.

One of these days.... lol, if Jake has cues as number 10 on his list of priorities,then they'd have to be at least priority 11 for me... while I do have access to a shop with capabilities to do this type of work, it's all about the time it would take.

I agree that the top drawing has more promise that the versions with the pins. It would have to undergo a few stress tests. It also might end up looking like a cross between a butterfly cue and a fullsplice... Think of this joint type with veneers! It would either look incredible, or completely horrible.
