I think this is yet another example of Filipino dominance on the global stage.
Even with Hall-Of-Famer Francisco Bustamente, Warren Kiamco and Santos Sambojon already out...
Even with Lee Van Corteza, Rodolfo Luat and Antonio Lining not being present...
There are still five Filipinos remaining on the Winner's Side!
Something to be admired, in my opinion.
Surprising early exits include:
Ralf Souquet
Mika Immonen
Thorsten Hohmann
Shannon Daulton
Earl Strickland is still hanging strong, proving once again why he is the Greatest Nine Ball Player in our lifetimes. And I maintain my opinion that his record of five U.S. Open titles will never be beat.
And Darren Appleton only lost on the hill to Efren, he can still take it down.
Today and Saturday should provide some of the highest levels of professional play ever witnessed at the Open.
I am not there this year, but I hope that one day all tables could be streamed.
