Whats your occupation? Pool players represent a large cross section of America. All walks of life from prominatant sports figures, to dentists, to construction workers... the list goes on and on. In our league we have a Lawyer, a Dentist, a Grave digger, a Chimney sweep, a engineer, and an Elevator mechanic to name a few. The last one represents myself.

I troubleshoot problems when the elevators don't work right. I provide maintainance on a scheduled basis. Perform safety tests to ensure they run as per code. Perform repairs when the elevators are really "Broke but good."
I am also "On Call' one day a week and one weekend a month.

Computer System Administrator/Systems Integrator/Network Designer/Network Administrator...jack of all trades.

If it has a keyboard, I can probably either break it or fix it.

I mainly deal with Windows/Linux/Unix systems, and yes I speak CISCO NOS.

I also have a few certifications to include MCP, MCSA 2000, MCSE 2000, Comptia A+ and also hold a BS in Computer Science and only have my thesis left to complete my MA degree.

I sit in a 6x6 cube all day. Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

I am an HVAC Master mechanic. I work as the evening shift supervisor for the largest credit union in the world. I work 4 days a week. Monday thru Thursday. I go in at 12 pm and head home at 10:30 pm. I work 35 miles west of my home Monday and Thursday and 35 miles east of my home Tuesday and Wednesday. I have trained the people who work for me very well. That means I really haven't hit a lick in about 9 years. I also buy, sell, and trade cues. I have a cue repair lathe and make good money on the side re-tiping, cleaning shafts, putting on butt caps, and a little refinishing. I really enjoy buying cues that are broken, repairing them and re-selling them.

If you are Otis Elevator, I have had my ups and downs with you. :D
