How did it happen anyway?Calgary has a pretty strong pool league, and a lots of good shots and it has the westerns there and it is a bigger city then Edmonton here.

I think some of the problems at OC’s were:
No lunch service, O didn’t like kids drinking and having goodtime, a lot of people banned for no good reason, list goes on.

All in all you got to be nice to the customers.

However, it’s too bad the tables were really nice and lots of nice people played there.

There is a lack of good halls in Calgary:
Hideout (never good) was going through renovations, not sure how it will look afterwards.
Stix changed direction, no longer a dedicated pool hall.
Family billiards used to be nicer.

So, that leaves:
Chalks just couple minutes away form OC is doing very well. Friendly place.
Classic cue seems ok as well.

That leaves a couple of other places but I don’t know anything about them.

Anyone has an opinion?

i like Leather Pockets on 4thNW and 40 Ave. and they have a deep fryer now, so there's chicken wings (really very good) and several other menu items. also, the owner does a mean tip replacement. does not use a lathe and amazing results. just got a sniper installed and looks perfect.

I will have to give it a try sometime. When do they hold tournaments?

Oc's has new owners, should re open with new name soon here, Im thinking around sept.
wont say who the owners are but they are well known, should be a great place.

In that case it is the Ashton twins. Good for them, should be a nice place to play.

I'm glad

I am glad it is re opening and hope that they stay in the billiard business, because there is to many pool halls shutting down, aspecially the Silvertip over in Missisauga Ont.I am also surprise that they even and still got the pool hall still in business over in the town known as Chatham N.B. on the miramichi bay.If you ever heard of the place....

Well, OC's will reopen with a new sort of catchy name and a new owner most likely 2nd week of September.
I just talked with the new regime, lots of experience and sound plan that has worked before.
So, the poolhall will be a success for sure. ……. And it isn’t the twins.

…… looks like the old owner didn’t go into retirement gently……..

Would the new owners happen to be greek?

The new owner is Dave Martin and you wont catch me in that place after what he did to my friends Joanne and Bev.
Oh well,I didnt like that dump antway.

OC's was bought by Al the owner of chalks. He bought the place for Dylan. The kid hasn't done anything wrong here. The person that did anything to Joanne and Bev was Octavian don't you think?

We were in Calgary last Saturday. OC's was closed for renos but looked like a great place to play. The owner of Leather pockets told me that Calgary has lost a lot of halls in a very short time. Its sad that a city the size of Calgary can't support more than a small handful of halls but I guess thats life in the fast lane.
