My Response to School Board

I just finished reading the NY Times article regarding Zachary Christie and I am appalled. He is a 6 year old child with a fork and a spoon and you suspend him from school? Just out of curiousity, what do you use for utensils in your cafeteria? Also, as far as zero tolerance, you must ban, pencils and pens as they can be used as weapons. Crayons, markers, and show laces can be used as choking devices. You must also consider removing all sinks and toilets as they can be used to drown people.

Does this sound ridiculus? Well, punishing this boy to make a name for yourself is just as ridiculus. This kid is a model student, get off your high horse and do your job.

I went to city hall in St Louis to play a parking ticked a few years ago and they make everybody empty their pockets and place the contents in a container and then walk through a metal detector.

I put my pocket knife in the container and the security guard holds it up and proclaims in a loud voice "No weapons allowed in city hall". So I went outside, hid the pocket knife under a trash can, went back in and paid the parking ticket.

What was I going to do, hijack city hall with a pocket knife? Mark Twain had it right, "common sense ain't so common".

and dont forget the scissors, anything made of glass that could be broken and used as a stabbing weapon, any type of metal hair clip (stabbing), guess the little girls will have to learn to do without, might as well do away with any kind of netting for sports too (choking). and go ahead and cover all hard surfaces with at least 3" foam padding.

it seems as if america has lost all common sense in an effort to "protect" us.
