ok, I probably shouldn't, but...

I could, but I wouldn't spend that much time searching eBay....I was looking at different cases, and ran across this. If Bill gets a cue that he WANTS for a good price after seeing my post GREAT!! I didn't think it'd really tick off the "flippers" as much as it apparently has.

Honestly, by posting that link here do you really think you're helping Bill ?! How many connoisseurs are on AZ ? 1 or 1000 ? So now Bill has 10x times more competition than before just because you gave him your "helpful hand"...please, spare me the bs...

I agree with posting the link because you think it's a good deal, you're broke and you want for someone on AZ to get it hoping that in couple of months u'll be able to get some money and buy it for yourself...other than that...it's just lame

Turn this into a diatribe against phantom flippers, why not. It's pathetic on every level. For instance, you could've held your horses until someone posted a listing of an obscure "TS" logo instead of an "F." Then you'd be embarrassing yourself for what could be (gasp) a Timmy Scruggs cue! Imagine how much happier Bill would be with a Scruggs. Think of his smile, and his gratitude towards you, the advocate for the little-guy-player.

Where's Freud in your logic !?

Oh Freud, gotcha.

It was white noise the first time around, and you've done nothing here but add static.

It would be less honest if you excluded the apology. No no, you should apologize. And don't let your crap about helping Bill actually fool you into believing this says something good about yourself. Next time, trust your instincts, and exhibit some self control.

-roger (call me Freud, or is it Frued?)

you believe whatever you wish there roger, and if to make your point you have to be the typing police, so be it. I mean I'm sure nobody's ever transposed two letters while typing...good catch!!

I don't need to believe anything good about myself, so this one I don't get...?

not embarrassed in the least, and if I had ran across a scruggs while looking for something else, sure, I woulda pointed it out too.

Possible scenerio

What you did is now not helping Bill as the cue has been bid up and over what it is probably worth. Now Bill won't be able to get the great deal that you had so hoped for him.

On the other hand if you are trying to help Bill's ebay auction you have in turn did a good deed for Bill.

In my opinion if you are as Trusty as your handle claims you should have kept this info to yourself and won the cue at a lower cost. Then you could have in turn reposted here of course with much better pictures. Add a very small markup maybe 10 dollars for yourself and still allow Bill to get the smoking deal you had so hoped for him. In having done this you would feel good about yourself and have others feeling even better about you.

Do you ever get Bill good action in the poolroom or do you just steer him clear of who not to play so that he doesn't lose any money?

It gives a heads up to those who want to pick up the stuff for a good price. I've never seen anyone get upset about the post, claiming that someone coulda bought all of it and sold it for profit (though it'd be easy to do at the prices balls, clubs, bags go for).

I would venture to say that same golf forum does not allow Ebay links to be posted.

If you have to start your post off with..."ok, I probably shouldn't, but...", then you probably shouldn't.

Freud wasn't in MY logic, it was for those who seemed to know why I posted this thread to begin with. Store clearances and eBay listings have the same potetial to be money makers for someone don't they? Let's say I by 20 dozen Titleist ProV1s at $20 a doz. and resell them for $40 a dozen....what's the difference??

now, that was a good post, thanks Kevin....I had thought about buying the cue and selling it for a good price, but that would have been at the local poolhall, not on here. From now on I will do just that, and try not to step on anyone's toes here. I still think Bill (who probably isn't looking though all pool related eBay posts) woulda got the cue cheaper after seeing this post though. Apparently turning a buck is much more valuable here than find a cue for a good price to keep and play with. I didn't know this to be the case, and now I do!

This is where you're making a mistake ... BIG one. You can't simply post an Ebay listing here, saying that you wanna help someone because, a lot of people are going to literally jump on that listing knowing that it's a good deal. So helping Bill...not so much

Clearence store, there's stuff for everyone. Me, you, Bill + 1000 AZ users...

So yeah, you shouldn't have posted this here

Now you're pathetic and disingenuous. Not a happy combination.

You've been on this forum for 2 years now and you have a nice iTrader...really, was that hard to make this difference or see this until now ? Or you thought that AZ is a Disneyland for pool players where everyone just gives cues for candy and rides for tips ?
Sure you wanna help someone...just the other day someone offered a free J/B cue ! FREE ! Not advertising listings here ... that might've been your friends listing and knowing AZ you were trying to make a buck of it ...

yeah, the local Target store is open to everyone, eBay I take it is not (if they're reading a post on AZB they can surely find eBay!!)?

the look on someone's face getting a cue they WANT = the same as the look on someone's face finding a cue (check the pawnshop finds post) that they can make a buncha cash off of....fine. I get that. different strokes.

I think it's too bad you can't play golf all year

I'm really with you there....and if I could get rid of the whole dark at night thing - I wouldn't need a computer or probably a cue...

and yes, I did GET your post, but there's some truth in just about everything.
