The game ended if all the balls stopped moving, so rearranging them with the bridge would not have been a foul. (Were balls still moving?)

As for calling all fouls for beginners, I think it's a great idea. Down at the Y, it's ok to bridge by grabbing a ball that's in the way, and you get to move the cue ball at least a butt diameter off the cushion when it's frozen. It's bad to learn stuff like that. It's better to play by all the rules.

BTW, the 2008 WPA rules will probably not have any section on "cue ball fouls only." It seems that only in the US do people ignore the "minor" fouls.

Did you mention that this is a 'all ladies' league? with 'all ball fouls?

GAME's over when the 8 dropped and the balls came to rest. Any movement of balls after that, is just getting ready for the next game.

Never took the ref test, but I don't have to ref amatures either. Maybe this MAY when the BCA-League rewrites the rules?

gotta love those "ladies only" leagues.... I bet there are some great team names.....

Don't worry Timberly, there's no common sense to this league! We don't have a legal hit rule but we do observe that three consecutive fouls is loss of game.

Anyone that would call a foul on that needs to be kicked in the balls. I was in a tournament one time and lost a match because I pocketed the 9 and and scratched in the side. My next match after that I had the exact same shot, made the 9 and had enough on it to get past the side pocket. It hit the side rail and was trickling away when I grabbed it to break. The cueball had not stopped moving when I grabbed it and the guy called foul. It wasn't moving fast enough to get anywhere and there was nothing that would have made it even go near a pocket but he still called foul. I was so pissed I couldn't see straight. Granted, I broke the rule by grabbing the cueball but in reality an earthquake with a hurricane blowing up behind it wouldn't have been enough to send that cueball to a pocket.

So I'm going to recommend that if the shot is on the 8-ball to end the game and it drops, and every ball comes to a stop, GAME IS OVER, regardless of what happens afterward. I think they can handle that.
