Any news from the One-pocket part of the Olathe, KS Tournament? If someone has some updates from 9-ball, they would be welcome to post them here as well.

I talked to a friend of mine last night who talked to 3 guys from Wichita that drove up to Olathe yesterday. They filled the 9 ball out at 128 players.
Jason, a young player, took off with 2 buddies yesterday to go up there. His live-in girlfriend was fuming at midnight last night. She hadn't talked to him for 8 hours, she DID NOT want to spend the night alone in their house, and she was trying to talk me into driving up there late last night. We found out Shooters was open all night last night.
George and Jason evidently found themselves a Scotch Doubles matchup, because Marshall, when he talked to them, said they were playing a race to 9. I think they, considering their skill levels, will get their a** handed to them up there, and will probably be lucky to have gas money to get home with..... lol
Jason's girlfriend was still looking for someone to drive up with her when I left Shooters-Wichita last night to come home. Her birthday is Sunday, and all I can say, if Jason still has his a** when he gets back, she will probably hand it to him then.

I was at Shooters last night. Larry Nevel won the one pocket and Danny Harriman came in third. Will get better results for you later today. Leaving now for the 9 ball tournament continues. Dave Matlock is playing Larry Nevel at 11:00AM in 9 ball. Cuemakers there are Pat Diveney, and Andy Gilbert. To name a few. I also saw alot of Shurtz cues but I am not sure if Gabe Owen's dad is there or not he is the one who makes them. I got their at 10:30 last night and it was too late to enter the tournament. Big let down for me. Lots of action going on .....

Who won the 9 ball event? Can you give us a rundown of the top 8 places?
Bob Owen usually goes to the tournaments that he sponsors or to answer questions about his cues he has on display. He tried to sell me a sweet ebony and ivory cue recently with his version of a 314-1 shaft on it. I didn't care for the 314 type shaft, but the deal offering was a sweet deal for the cue.
If it wasn't Bob there, then it had to be Bill Sharkey. Bill is an old Archery buddy of my big brother. I really enjoyed hearing some of the Archery stories about my big bud from Bill, and I am sure I was the one laughing the loudest ... lol

baraks won with jamie fenton from des moines getting 2nd
walden got third and mike banks jr in 4th.
fenton did beat baraks the 1st set of the finals and baraks cruised in for the win in the 2nd.
