Old Brunswick Centennial Set?

Hello everyone! I'm picking this set up tomorrow and I'm pretty sure is a Centennial set but the lines under the 6 and 9 look straight and not curved. So I'm thinking it's maybe an older set. Does anyone happen to know if I'm correct and if so how old these might be? And I guess another question is would they be better than my Aramith Crown Standards? Thanks in advance!!

This set looks ancient -- the colors look way off from any modern set.

Personally, I would pass. No telling about varying sizes of the balls and what not. Having said that, if you don't care too much and you're getting a great deal (about $100 or less) goferit.

Oh wow! Lol thanks man! They're asking $85 for this set and comes with the low a new end Brunswick Traditional Set thats like the plastic cheapo balls. I was going to keep the Centennial and give the other set away. Maybe I will pass them. I appreciate the reply!

Don’t listen to him.

He’s known for this.

Tells you that and he’ll swoop right in and snatch them up himself. 👍🏻

🙏🏻

Seriously, 2 sets for $85 isn’t too bad. I’d check them out and if there’s any chips in the Centennials just pass. Offer $50 if they don’t look too bad.

Do you plan to play with the Centennials?

As for whether they are better than the "Aramith Crown Standard" balls, I'd say probably not because they look so beat up in the pictures. Aramith does not list "Crown Standard" on their website although I see them for sale for around $120.

The "starter set" Aramith lists on the website is the Premier, which seems to sell for about $200.

The balls you're looking at are used and abused. Too old and tired.
Nobody's gonna swoop up and grab these. Not worth $5 (Sorry to be so harsh)

Aramith Premiers is a BUDGET LINE but OK.
You should be able to pick up a nice used of Super Aramith Pro for around $150 or so.

Good Luck

I wouldn't concern yourself with the six and nine.
All the round dart sets have the straight line underneath. Some of the early (pre-'85?) pointed dart sets do as well.

I was planning on it but probably not now and will stick with my Aramiths. Thanks!

First generation, 1960s

Cool display piece, will play like crap though. The numbers swell out and they roll funny

Don't pay more than $50

Absolutely. They are fine especially for that price. I like the color like that. It makes them look aged. I”m sure they will play perfect.

You've got a pretty rough set of Hyatt made Brunswick Centennials. They are most likely 70's or 80's vintage. As far as better than your Aramiths, it all depends how rough they are and how old. I would wager these Centennials most likely will not rack tight due to wear. Over time and use, the balls wear ever so slightly which causes the set to lose its consistent size of 2.25". I've got a vintage set from the 70's. Mine are in great shape and rack tight. I don't think they saw much play.
