Old Brunswick Cue, who can tell me something about it

This Cue belongs to a gentleman I know, he would like to know if it is special, or has an collectable VALUE.

Picture below is the Cue, and the Box it came in when he purchased it in the late 1960?s.

The box say made in Japan. Both the Butt Section, and the Shaft Section have the NUMBER 136 Stamped it them, so I will assume that is to match Butt & Shaft at Factory. Cue also has a Brass or Gold Colored Metal plate on it that I will assume is for One's Name to be engraved in it if they wished? The Wrap is Leather and is Stitched, and I will assume it was Wet, and Stretched on the butt section., Veneers are nice, and Point appear Straight & Even. cue roll almost perfect when assembled, and the Owner bought it in Wisconsin in the 1960 in some Billiard Supply Store.

Hello there buddy, the cue was made by Schmelke for Brunswick. These cues and some others were made in late 1968 through the middle of 1969. Then production was moved to Asia, all Asian models had numbers at the Joint collar on the shaft and butt that matched. The shafts and butt from what I have been told were not shipped as a single unit for some reason. They were then packaged in the USA, and the numbers allowed the shaft and butt to be matched up.
The Titlist forearms for the cue pictured was also made by Schmelke, not Brunswick. The cues do not have a very high value to my knowledge, but this is the first one I have seen with an original box.

Hope this helps
