Old cue for ID help

A friend showed me this pic the other night. His friend has it and got it from his dad after he passed on. I can probably get more pics later if needed but this is all I have for now. Thought it looked interesting. He thought it was from the 60s.

That is what it is 99.9%. If you very carefully examine the cue with a magnifying glass at some point you'll find it engraved into the cue actually in the wood.
Oh interesting. I'm not familiar with them at all but I'll pass that along and have him take a look for the engraving.
 
I see the Sampaio stuff is made in Portugal. He was able to look it over last night and said that name wasn't carved in it, but it did say made in West Germany. Does that still track with it being a Sampaio?

West Germany was before the reunification of the two Germanies in 1990.
So the cue was made prior to 1990.

I think I may have found the maker. I see Boetzel cues with that red bumper and carving in the handle. I knew it was at least dating back to the 60s but seems like it could be even older.
