Any ideas. My buddy picked it up. Old but plays nice and is pretty unique. No logo or signature. Sharp points and 3/8-10 pin.

Very cool cue. Old. Domestic I think. Looks very original with thin/worn finish but otherwise great condition. I am amazed it's not nicked up. Somebody used the heck out of it but cared for it.

The weight bolt and joint rings will give it away I think, but I don't know this one. I think somebody will though.

Interesting that the butt sleeve looks like it has phenolic inlays. And that ferrule.....

I'm thinking this may be even older than Scruggs cues? Maybe? Creamy white butt cap, not delrin.

National? Old Pre-Adam Helmstetter? Very, very wild guess. Figured if I posted I might as well guess. EDIT: I don't think they used that pin...so those guesses are probably way off but I'll leave them anyway.

A beauty

I don't have a guess on the maker.

I am not an expert, but i would not guess Szamboti or Balabushka. I don't think that a refinish would hurt its value. I hope you will be refinishing the cue and will show us what it looks like when you are done. I didn't notice at first that the points are veneered. It would look great cleaned up.

Great find by your friend.

I think that could be a Biaggio cue. They used a lot of the brownish red phenolic.

However all I have seen were piloted joint...

Biagio, there's an idea.

The Biagio that were made by JOSS all had piloted joints. But I think at least some of the ones that were imported had this style of joint. That would place it in the eighties I think.

It's one of the brands that has been both domestic and import.

We have some Biagio pics in the forums somewhere. Maybe we can compare the weight bolt?

Edit: Here is a similar Biago ring.

Another one showing the weight bolt (which looks slightly different):

There were other Biagios in my forum search but nothing else close to this one.

Fun way to spend my lunch hour!

I think who ever made this one made the one my buddy has. the joint and ringwork on the butt look almost identical.

It seems fishy the one trying to be identified in that thread by JKM had no markings and a 3/8-10 pin and so does the one my buddy has. All the other Biagio's are clearly marked and don't have that pin. Might not solve this one for sure.

Yup....the plot thickens.....

I do seem to remember some non-piloted Biagio cues.......

Not certain though......

The key would be to find one with that pin and the logo to be sure....
