I recently bought this cue and case. See:

No decals, filthy, mostly straight, split wood in the bottom of the butt, no tip, and seller rescued it from a dumpster behind a bar. I call it "Dumpy". A good pool cue for a beginner like I am.

I glued the bottom portion, sanded the high spots, installed a new tip, and thoroughly cleaned it all over. Shaft is a little thin but in excellent condition. Local dealer sold me a joint protector and said the threads were same as Cuetec.

I suspect the cue is 20+ years old but don't know that. I sure would like to know who made this cue.

Thank you.

It does remind me of the Mcdermott but the pin looks like a 5/16x18 ?? and Mcdermott have 3/8x10 big pin. Maybe it is just the way the picture looks but it depends on the pin unless it was changed. (if there was a picture of the shaft threads we could tell for sure) .<<ED

It is a chinese copy of a McDermott model d-8.

Yep. saw it on the 'Bay, there was a ton of these around in the 80s, when the cue knock off thing was getting warmed up

Thank you all who replied. I appreciate the help.

Dumpy is working fine for me, but you probably won't see
Bumpa and Dumpy on the pro circuit anytime soon.

National cue co

its a National cue A friend of mine shoot with the same cue his still has the stickers on it

So is it safe to conclude this cue was made in the 1980s by the National Cue Company, a Chinese firm, and it is a copy of a McDermott? Thanks again.
